Ido Community is a beautiful community in Asari Toru Local Government Area (ASALGA) of Rivers State, Nigeria. It is one of the 26 settlements (exact number may vary) that made up the Kalabari Kingdom.Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). The town of Ido was formed by predominantly fishermen who migrated from Elem-Ido (a fishing settlement). As rooted in their culture, the people of Ido are ruled successively by traditional king titled 'Amayanabo of Ido' from the Egwere dynasty; at the time of writing this article, HRH. Damiete seki Dokubo (Ewelle viii) was the Amayanabo.

The community like any other Kalabari settlements is made up of the Council of Chiefs headed by the Amayanabo, whose duties involve but not limited to maintaining a functional and stable society where youths and elders are the engines of development. Ido is surrounded by neighbouring Kalabari communities Buguma and Abalama on either side connected by bridges. It is a rapidly developing town with a touch of urban taste.

Since the creation of Rivers State and Asari Toru Local Government Area by the then Military regime in 1967 and 1989 respectively, the community has evolved significantly with a major drift towards western civilisation, leaving fishing practice on the backpedal. Over the years, Ido has contributed to the development of the country in its own capacity by producing highly qualified medical professionals, administrators, law enforcement agents, civil servants, academics, businessmen and entrepreneurs. Social amenities such as water, electricity, schools, policing, etc are conveyed to the community via the local government council whose headquarters is located in Buguma.
