I have been a semi-regular contributor to Wikipedia since January 2004. I am interested in languages, particularly the development of English from Old Norse, and the dialects associated with the Lowland languages. I'm also interested in Genealogy and Family history, the History of Scotland and Scottish families, and their Emigration to Canada and the USA.
I am currently attempting to write a biography of Beilby Porteus, Bishop of London, focusing especially on his involvement in the campaign against the British Slave trade.
