About me

And he played upon a ladle, a ladle, a ladle, and he played upon a ladle, and his name was Aiken Drum.

Hi! My username comes from the folk song Aiken Drum, which is quoted above. I would have been Aiken Drum (with a capital D) but it was taken.

Was a gamer kid in the 90s but now I find myself sitting on websites like Wikipedia and Facebook for hours on end instead (except for the occasional shift back to Tetris and Solitaire).

What I am doing here?

I spend most of my time browsing articles and editing to improve as I see it. I also revert vandalism and bad edits when I see them. I've also been !voting in various discussions such as adminship and articles for deletion. Occasionally I create new articles or work extensively on existing ones. I've also starting reviewing good article nominations. My list of reviewed articles is here.

My creations:

RfA

I have started to regularly vote on RFAs. My criteria is very simple: will this candidate be a good admin? I assess this by looking at contributions, which is the only reliable thing we have to predict what they may be like as an admin. I don't look at every contribution; just a glance through. I don't have a set edit count or time requirement, and I don't demand FAs/GAs/DYKs. All I expect is someone who is obviously capable and willing to help in whatever way they can.
