This is resolved now. Whew.

Here's the deal[edit]

I cannot log in as my real self, Amanda_bee, an account that dates to 2006.

Four browsers, two computers, all have some variation on the same problem. If I try to log in with a bad password, it get a password error (expected behavior). If I use my actual password, I get redirected to the page I came to Special:UserLogin from (expected behavior). From their one of two things happens:

Either, the personal navigation top bar still indicates that I'm "Not logged in", or it indicates that I am logged in, but as soon as I follow any link, it logs me out.

It doesn't matter whether or not I check the "keep me logged in" box. I realize this sounds like a cookie issue, but here's how I know it isn't:

  • I tried a completely clean Firefox profile. No dice.
  • I created a whole new user (this one) which is able to log in, update preferences, and edit pages normally.

More Observations[edit]

This behavior is consistent across multiple wikimedia sites. I tried wikidata, wikibooks and meta.wikimedia.org -- same result.

I also tried on a site I'm sure I've never edited: https://csb.wiktionary.org/wiki/Prz%C3%A9dn%C3%B4_starna -- same thing.
