A-Rex Worldwide Music Group new article content ...

A-Rex Worldwide Music Group is a production duo comprised of Queens, New Yorker Sean Hamilton and Korean native Hyuk Shin. The team is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Sean Hamilton and Hyuk Shin (who affectionately goes by "Shin") met in 2007 while attending the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, MS. Sean Hamilton, a Queens, New York native, was attending the school on a bass guitar scholarship, and Hyuk Shin, a native of Seoul, Korea, was attending school on a voice scholarship. The two met while Hamilton worked as a salesman for The Guitar Center to make some extra spending money. As Sean puts it "I remember this guy kept coming in buying all of our keyboards. I wanted to know what he was doing with all of them, so I asked him". Shin elaborates that he spoke very little English at the time, but "when I invited Sean to my apartment to help with some problems I was having with my studio, we didn't need to speak much. The music spoke for us and we've been creating it together ever since".

For over a year, the duo made the long commute from Boston to New Jersey every weekend to be mentored under the watchful eye of legendary producer "Kay-Gee", who is best known as the mastermind behind Naughty By Nature, Next and Jaheim. It was while working with him that the duo met the hit-making production team "The Clutch" and got their first big break. A song on the debut album of a new and still unknown 14-year old singer from Canada named Justin Bieber.

The trademark song produced by A-Rex was Bieber's international multi-platinum single "One Less Lonely Girl", and led to their immediate signing to LA Reid, the man best known for co-founding LaFace Records with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmunds. LA Reid had just inked a new venture with EMI called LA Reid Publishing, and the production duo of A-Rex was just what he needed to build the cornerstone of his company. To date, they are the only production team signed to the imprint, making them a unique and valuable commodity for the business mogul. Since it's release on Bieber's "My World" Debut in October 2009, "One Less Lonely Girl" has peaked at #16 on the Billboard Top 40, making Shin the first Korean songwriter/producer in history to appear on it's charts. It is currently a multi-platinum downloaded digital single and the album has sold more than 6 million copies internationally. The success of the single has also led to tremendous marketing opportunities, including Justin Bieber's own "One Less Lonely Girl" singing doll, "One Less Lonely Girl" lipstick/lipgloss and is a featured performance song in Bieber's current world-wide tour. The hit record will also be featured as the theme song for an upcoming MTV series this fall.

The team has also gone on to produce Tynisha Keli's gold hit single "Right Here Waiting", as well as the enormous hit single "SupaLuv" for Korean boy band TeenTop. The song is slated to be featured in a new blockbuster movie called "Beastly" later this year. The team is also currently in the studio with Mary J. Blige working on her new album and promise to deliver "great, timeless music the fans have come to expect from Mary".
