  • Note: Because of the newly implemented flexible-scheduling policy, which took effect during the last seven weeks of the NFL regular season, the New York Giants vs the Chicago Bears game on November 12 was moved to Sunday Night at 8:15 pm Eastern Time on NBC. The game was originally scheduled at 1:00 pm Eastern Time on Fox. But since the flexible-scheduling policy allows one game to be moved to the prime-time slot during the last seven weeks of the NFL season, this game was moved to prime-time because of the successes of both teams and their winning records. [1]

2007 Schedule[edit]

Matchups were set at the end of the 2006 regular season. Prior to Super Bowl XLI, it was announced that the Giants' road game against the Miami Dolphins would be played at Wembley Stadium in London on October 28, which was week 8 of the NFL season. The game marked the first time a regular season game was played outside North America. Both the Giants and Dolphins had their bye weeks following this game.

2008 Schedule[edit]

The Giants began their title defense in the traditional NFL Kickoff game like previous champions when they played the Washington Redskins at Giants Stadium. Traditionally, this game is usually played on the first Thursday following Labor Day in the United States. This day fell on September 4 in 2008.

On March 26, the NFL, NBC, and the Republican National Committee agreed in principle to move the kickoff time of the opener to 7:00 pm EDT instead of 8:30 pm EDT to accommodate the 2008 Republican National Convention.[2]
