Eindhoven News

[edit]

Eindhoven News is an English online news source in the Greater Eindhoven region. The international population living in the municipalities of Eindhoven, Veldhoven, Waalre, Geldrop-Mierlo, Nuenen, Best, Oirschot, Valkenswaard and Son and Breugel follow local news, feature stories and event listings through Eindhoven News. Eindhoven News was founded in 2009 by Irene Martens. After living abroad as an expat for 20 odd years, Irene Martens returned to Eindhoven and noticed the lack of local news available to expats and internationals living in the region and as a result initiated Eindhoven News.

Eindhoven News is headed by Irene Martens as director, Beena Arunraj as deputy Director and Features Editor-in-Chief, Melinda Walraven- News Editor-in-Chief and Remco Vanderwheel as Events Editor-in-Chief. Eindhoven News celebrated their tenth anniversary in 2019. The Mayor of Eindhoven, John Jorritsma, initiated the celebration. Irene Martens was chosen in the prestigious top 50 women annual listings by FRITS magazine, a business glossy from the region.[1][2][3][4]
