From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BioGreen Lighting is a term used to imply the Eco friendly attributes of a lighting product.

This product might be a lighting fixture or light bulb. In recent years BioGreen Lighting products have increased their popularity and Governments around the Globe are encouraging their usage in their own Countries.

BioGreen lighting fixtures are categorized in the following groups of LED, Induction and Fluorescent.

LED lighting fixtures have the most popularity in the US market. LED stands for Light Emitting Diodes. LED chips are highly energy efficient and their production is fairly automated. They can save 40% to 60% in electric bill each month. They are pricey but last average of 10 years. However the driver or the electronics that control the LED units in bulb or a fixture are susceptible to heat generate by the diodes. Therefore if the heat is not dissipated in an efficient manner, the driver shall be subject to overheating and malfunction.

The induction lighting is another form of BioGreen Lighting that has been around but due to its cost and limited use, has not gained popularity as LED has done in a short period. Induction Lighting uses gases similar to fluorescent but these gases are exited with two opposite magnets that are wrapped around a closed loop tube in a circular or rectangular fashion. They are more efficient than LED but have limited use due to their bulky characteristics. Induction light is best suited for outdoor lighting but can be used indoor in certain type of fixtures.

Fluorescent lighting is the original form of BioGreen Lighting and has been around for a while. Due to having mercury and other health issues associated with fluorescent lighting, they are slowly phased out. Fluorescent lighting remains to be the least expensive category of the BioGreen Lighting despite of its disadvantages. Compare to LED and Induction, they are inexpensive and are the most produced.
