Section 1: Workshop 5[edit]

Wine Australia Departments[edit]

This section will include a summary of departments that exist within Wine Australia. These being; compliance, market development and knowledge development, which will stand as subheadings following a small explanation of segregation of duties within the large statutory authority.[1]

Funding[edit]

As the federal government department responsible for Wine Australia’s funding agreement, the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment gives extensive information detailing economic means by which it is supported.[2] This explains funding provided, statistical expressions, visual understanding of conditions, progress and effects of funding agreements.

Section 2: Practicing Citations[edit]

Section 4: Activity 6.3.3[edit]

Wine Australia Corporation Act 1980[edit]

In 1980, the Wine Australia Corporation Act 1980 was passed, forming the statutory authority that continues to the present.[1] With the passing of this act, the functions of Wine Australia, and thus the purpose of its formation were declared.[2] These can be found to be explicitly listed in the Wine Australia Corporation Act 1980 (now Wine Australia Act 2013) at Part 2, s7 to be:

  “(a)  to promote and control the export of grape products from Australia;

    (b)  to encourage and promote the consumption and sale of grape products both in Australia and overseas;

    (c)  to improve the production of grape products in Australia;

    (d)  to conduct, arrange for, and assist in, research relating to the marketing of grape products; and

    (e)  such other functions in connection with grape products as are conferred on the Corporation by this Act or the regulations.” [3]


**section will continue the steps of formation with more info about the AWBC and then expand on the contents of the Wine Australia Corporation Act 1980.
