Note from Amina nevazish[edit]

Hi... I've given three reliable third party sources , Gbooks, MsBooks and Msacademic to the article "kashif ali abbas" as suggested by Wikipedia source. Kindly reinstate the article. thanks (Amina nevazish (talk) 14:24, 28 September 2010 (UTC))

Can you help me to archive my talk page?!![edit]

I just don't get it. I was trying to cut off everything in my talk page and put everything up until January 2010 into the next archive. Somehow, I just screw it up. It would be my 5th talk page archive, and then, if possible, archive everything from January 2010 to July 2010 also in a talk page number 6. AAAAAH!!!!! It's driving me insane; now I've created some godawful page in trying to do so (see my contribs cause I don't want all of that floating around someplace,) and don't even know how to revert the f*cking thing. Please help me.

Also, on another note, how can I merge and connect all my contribs on this page? Does it include all the stuff I do on other-language Wikipedias? : [1] --Leahtwosaints (talk) 02:30, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Perfect. I could kiss you!! Someone should make one of those Wiki messages... kind of like the cookies on the tray, only instead with a big lipsticked smooch! Guess you'll have to imagine it (which is often better than the real thing)! So many thanks, so little time :) --Leahtwosaints (talk) 12:44, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Oh, yeah. Anytime you figure you'd like to tinker with my talk page or userpage, you have my express permission. Ah, thank Goodness for virtual things... !! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 12:57, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Lovely gesture! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 13:36, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the note - Done at User:Val.kueh/YieldAds Brookie :) - he's in the building somewhere! (Whisper...) 15:56, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Is this you?[edit]

User:Dogfish Jim and the Dixoap. He actually created his userpage as almost a copy of yours: [2] Which would be perfectly okay if it's actually you, but if not, then it may be worth looking at. Soap 20:40, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Celts Talk[edit]

Hi Catfish Jim - in case you missed it, a user has posted what they claim is info on your RL identity on the Celts talk page. Nothing serious, but you might want to take a look. Gabhala (talk) 21:42, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Wow. Just looking at tonight, that's slightly worrying. Perhaps a Checkuser is more warranted than I first thought... Tonight's reverts on your edits, if related, makes an 11th sock, by my reckoning... Is this serious enough for a Checkuser? Gabhala (talk) 21:56, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

...and then there was 17. I'll draw up (formally) the evidence list over the next few days and put in a request. Gabhala (talk) 22:22, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
our friend seems to be experimenting, and getting a little bolder each week. I'll let you know how it goes. Gabhala (talk) 23:06, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
It would appear our chat hasn't gone unnoticed - my recent edits just got the same treatment. There's been a sockpuppet case raised against the users involved. I wonder if that's the best platform to raise the bigger issue? Gabhala (talk) 18:09, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm inclined to let it sit for now, and see what plays out on the investigation page. I'm not sure if it would be constructive to add the list of ten puppets I have identified at this stage, so I'm inclined to leave that decision to the investigating admin(s). If they don't want to include it, then I'll go ahead and request a separate investigation in a few days, as planned. The recent comments on the Celts talk page mentioning me seem to confirm my suspicions regarding at least one of the users. Gabhala (talk) 19:21, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I've passed the list of the other names I had on my list to the admin who ran the Checklist. It also turns out that one of the names on my list, along with three other suspected socks had been stalking The Ogre. I just wonder how many more socks this guy has? Gabhala (talk) 16:34, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

There was also this person who seems to have gone through your recent edit history and undone many of your edits, without regard to what they were. Some of them are possibly good changes, though I don't think the edit summary he used (always "OR") was appropriate. I don't know if any of these last three incidents are related or if you just have developed a lot of enemies. Soap 16:58, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

There is a list at Wikipedia:Editing restrictions of "all" users under topic bans and interaction bans of any kind, but I wouldn't take it for granted that everyone who should be listed there already is. There's also Wikipedia:List of banned users, but that lists people who've been banned completely. Soap 17:57, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Template:Perth & Kinross Towns & Villages[edit]

Hi. Thanks for creating this template. I was wondering though whether or not it might be a bit big. This is two historic sheriffdoms incorporating 5 or so counties. Maybe separate templates for Kinross/Fothriff, Strathearn, Gowrie, Stormont (maybe Gowrie and Stormont), Atholl, and Breadalbane ... or at least separate rows (as in Template:Aberdeenshire places)? All the best, Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 14:39, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

I noticed that the old Topographical, Statistical, and Historical Gazetteer of Scotland divides the county of Perth into: Perth, Stormont, Strathearn, Atholl, Breadalbane, Menteith, Glenshiel, Rannoch and Balquidder.[3][4] Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 14:44, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Is it possible to email you? I can't recall where the little note saying, "email this user" or whatever is located. I just have some technical questions for the most part. If you don't have email activated, maybe you could contact me in that way? Thanks --Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:37, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Speedy deletion of BRSG Global Business Group[edit]

Hi Sir, I would like if you visit the reference, etc. Simply notifying this can affect the credibility of the concern on Google Search. and its wrong in this way. Please see and then do anything. AlexNewBritain (talk) 07:02, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Significance and Notibility[edit]

I think you will find that to contest a speedy deletions the page only needs to make a claim of significance. VERTott 20:43, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I just removed your CSD from Elsie Elizabeth Esterhuysen which clearly claims significance "famous botonist" and a 2nd google confirms this as possible, thus CSD does not apply. --Triwbe (talk) 07:58, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Area notionally bounded by London Road, Maukinfauld Road, Cuthelton Street/Glamis Road, Helenvale Street. The investigative sociologist who lived there for a while (incognito) did so in the middle of it at Dunning Street, which bordered the Boiler Works (John Thomson/Wilson Boilers, now no longer there). There was attached to these premises a (probably 20th Century) small house called Lilybank Cottage, so it could be the origin of the name. (It is not on 19th Century maps). I am afraid it looks as if almost everything the area has disappeared, though a few buildings remain on London Road. I think they are very interesting architecturally (a pared down moderne tenement with quite innovative features), but information on early construction is hard to find. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest.

Talk:Camus Cross/GA1[edit]

I've reviewed the article and left notes on the talk page. I've put the nomination on hold for seven days to allow the issues to be addressed. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, here, or on the article talk page with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. More Scottish contribution to Halloween[edit]

New user Catfish and found your name on Scotland WikiProject. The Halloween page is being revamped and it needs input from Scottish users on discussion as its too North American centric right now. Getting more Scots input where Halloween was first celebrated, and guising, would give a balanced global overview of the holiday and its customs.ColinBurchill (talk) 18:56, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello Jim, is anyone able to assist on Halloween discussion? A recent U.S. user stated to another user; "You've been making various assertions about the nature and origin of Halloween, but here you say you are not clear on the "role the Scots play in Halloween"? An understanding of the formation of the idea of Halloween in Scotland is necessary to understand what it became in the USA". Scotland has played a huge part in the history of Halloween and it needs Scottish contributors to give a true overview of it. Can you help please?. I was prompted to register because of this, and i've already posted on Scotland Wiki Project for assistance.ColinBurchill (talk) 11:10, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

What was your reason for putting speedy deletion? Thanks (talk) 21:46, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

The article is about a person, but makes no credible claim about their significance. It appears though that the author has moved his user page to article space, in which case a better solution would be for them to move it back. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 10:21, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello Catfish Jim and the soapdish. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Ji Man-Won, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Existence of an article on other projects indicates that the subject might be significant or important. Please use WP:AFD instead. Thank you. SoWhy 21:12, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

GAN page edits[edit]

Hi, I'm not sure if you're aware, but you don't need to edit the WP:GAN page any more (for example, putting articles on hold). Just edit the template on the article talkpage. Otherwise, chances are that the GA bot will just revert you! --BelovedFreak 13:23, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Need a little help..[edit]

I have been uploading a LOT of photos --one guy in Germany was kind enough to offer his entire extensive collection. Anyway, some are really needed since it's doubtful there'll be any more of these artists that'll be free images to upload to Commons. The problem is that I can't slice and trim some of the photos- we CAN do it; the license alone gives us clear sailing, but a handful of them can be trimmed and fit into an infobox. They'd have to be "sliced and diced" (haha) to just have one person in the infobox about each person. Would you be willing to trim any photos? I can't because A) I'm computer-ignorant. B) can't on this computer and would screw it up anyhow I think. There was another editor on en.wikipedia --User:Suede67 but it appears he's been M.I.A. for some time.. suddenly he just disappeared! He and I used to trade little tasks with one another. Ah well- If I give you the location of the photos and what needs done, would you be willing to help trim them? I have the photographer's blessing, even. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 19:24, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! Offhand, there's a photo of Rory Gallagher's band while it included bassist Gerry McAvoy and drummer, Rod de'Ath. Rod de'Ath has no photo on his biography page.. there are a couple band shots I uploaded to Commons with the hope that you can trim down at least one so it only shows the drummer in question. The photos are here:[5], and [6]. Whatever fits best in an infobox for Rod would really be great! (You might notice I misspelled his name on both photos, but that is my fault. The correct spelling of the name is the one on the stub in Wikipedia. thank you! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 18:01, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
AMAZING JOB!! Thanks!! There are few photos of Rod de'Ath around, and you really came through! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:57, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Note advice[edit]

I noted your comment here and moved the ref's into the external links section, as they were surplus to requirements anyhow and are covered by the other sources regardless. Obviously your right, it was covered in national papers considering the circumstances, really goes without saying. Thanks --Domer48'fenian' 21:38, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Lots of stuff is reported in the news, however individuals need to have enduring significance to have articles so news reports from the time simply won't cut it I'm afraid. Valenciano (talk) 02:40, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
It depends entirely on the scope and quality of the report. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 09:49, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
While I agree with you, it now appears that regardless of the scope and quality, it is still not good enough.--Domer48'fenian' 16:36, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi Catfish Jim, we seem to have covered all the points raised during your GA review of the Wales article (would you mind confirming if that is correct). The exception, of course, is the introduction. We have a suggested lead here: User:Daicaregos/sandbox, and have (just) advertised on the Talkpage for any suggestions, amendments or improvements to it. Would it be possible to extend the review hold to allow editor feedback for what is, actually, quite a big change? If so, I would also like to advertise on the WP:WWNB to try to gain as much consensus as possible, which could help maintain article stability. A further seven days would be much appreciated. Please let me know if that would be OK. Thanks, Daicaregos (talk) 10:17, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Thank you so much for confirming that all the outstanding issues have been addressed. Also, I am more than delighted the suggested introduction would be approved. I would still like to wait for editor approval of the lead before we complete the review, if that's OK. I don't want to be seen to be railroading "my version". I am conscious that any changes made to a GA approved version would not, strictly, be a GA. Would an extension to the review deadline be possible? If so, I will advertise on the WP:WWNB. Thanks, Daicaregos (talk) 15:25, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to review the Wales article. I can only imagine what a major undertaking it would have been to review an article of such a broad scope. All credit to you for having the bottle to do it, and for the way in which it was carried out. I really appreciate all your help and support. Thanks again. Daicaregos (talk) 22:09, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

More photo stuff-- and possibly more coming[edit]

Hey- we don't have more than one photo that shows John Illsley of Dire Straits. If possible, it would be great to lighten this photo (he's the one on the left) and crop it, so there's a visible photo of him to add to his biography article text: [7] Hate to dump things on you-- if it is doable, it would really help! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 00:20, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

More thankless drivel[edit]

I'm so sorry to bug you! I know only a handful of editors on Wikipedia, but only 2-3 of you are good at these things. First, is there any hope for this photo (with your exceptional talents) towards showing George Duke in his own infobox: [8] ?? Right now, it's all we have, and I think it beats what is on his page now. I suppose I'll have to go trolling for his picture, even so. Also, my list of musician-photo uploads got so big I made a special page for the list. Would you be interested in interior decorating my userpage so that the list, (which has the link right above the little photo gallery there) can be seen more easily? Kind of like, "click on this object to find a list of upload names" (you can pick the object, I don't care). ?? It would help. Tell me if I'm pushing you too much, OK? thanks. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 05:48, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
