Personal Life[edit]

In 2003, Alona and [9] her kids, Shadrach, Asahel Jeshaiah, and Jedidaiah, was abandoned by her husband, Jerome Ybanez Quinones. Jerome's reason of leaving them was because he didn't love them anymore. Jerome never worked to earn money for their food, clothing, for his children's education, and even for other household expenses. That time, Shadrach, their eldest son, was still grade 2; Asahel Jeshaiah, kindergarten; and Jedidaiah was still a baby. Alona and her family waited and searched for Jerome. She found Jerome somewhere in the province of Pampanga, but, Jerome refused to go with her. Since then, She and her family never heard anything about Jerome anymore. So, they decided to move on and forget Jerome.

Alona's experience with the man who abandoned them didn't kept her from being happy. She considered everything that happened to her was a blessing. Alona Lopez Gucela married an American national last 2007 and became Alona Gucela Weintraub. That year, 2007, she returned in Southern Leyte together with her husband where they financed the construction of Weintraub Bldg. located in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte.
