ClueBot is taking a well-deserved, indefinitely long Wikibreak after working non-stop for 3.5 years and making almost 1.6 million edits. He may come back at some point if special heuristics will help defend against a specific type of vandalism, but these days his younger, faster, more accurate sibling ClueBot NG is picking up the slack and more.
This user account is a bot operated by Cobi (talk). It is a legitimate alternative account, used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually. The bot is approved and currently active – the relevant request for approval can be seen here. Administrators: if this bot is malfunctioning or causing harm, please block it.
Normally ClueBot will not revert pages outside of the main namespace (with the exception of talk pages if it detects page-move vandalism). However, if there is a good reason to list another page (like a user page, user talk, or talk page that gets vandalized often), it can be listed on this list of pages outside the main namespace to revert.
For pages which have had a lot of text added in the last change, the bot will score the additions based on this list, and then score the removals on the inverse of that list. If the overall score is greater than -100, the bot sees the edit as constructive and does nothing, if it scores less than -100, the bot sees it as destructive, reports it and possibly reverts it.
Open proxy scanning
ClueBot will report open proxies found on vandalizing IP addresses to WP:OP. ClueBot checks the following DNS Blacklists:
ClueBot will make requests for administrators in #cvn-wp-en when a user vandalizes while listed on AIV. ClueBot also will make requests for administrators in #cvn-wp-en when a page has been vandalized 30 times in the last 48 hours.
