About Me

[edit]

I am the librarian at the American Craft Council and an avid fan of the GLAM initiative to facilitate connections between archives, library, and museum staff and Wikipedians and Wikimedians. I like to write about contemporary craft, notable female craft artists, and craft-based organizations, conferences and exhibitions. You are most likely to find me researching contemporary craft history, interviewing living craft artists, and identifying both primary and secondary sources on notable female artists. Leave a message on my talk page or find me on twitter @jshaykett.

Conflict of Interest Statement

[edit]

I, User:craftlibrarian, am an employee of the American Craft Council, a cultural institution per WP:GLAM. I accept the editing conditions specified at that page. I will not make any edits that would not be beneficial to the goals of Wikipedia.

My main edits tend to consist of the following activities:

  • Creating or enhancing existing biographies of notable American craft artists or craft organizations based on both published and original primary source materials.
  • Creating or enhancing existing biographies of other notable scholars, researchers, and cultural figures, especially those from under-represented populations.
  • Adding authoritative references, citations, and images to improve the quality of existing articles of all types.

I will modify my editing behavior based on problems cited by other editors or if my editing conflicts with other Wikipedia guidelines. I ask that other editors do not hesitate to contact me, via my user talk page, if I appear to be going against this declaration. --Craftlibrarian (talk), 5 May 2014 (UTC)
