Thy Worshiper - The band was started in 1993 in Wroclaw, Poland by Marcin Gasiorowski.

In 1996 they were signed by a polish label Morbid Noizz and released their first and most acclaimed album ‘Popiol [Dust] (Introibo ad Altare Dei)’. The music was an innovatory mix of black metal and eastern European folk/traditional melodies served with a nostalgic twist. The album has won critical acclaim (the band named The Most Promising New Band by polish edition of Metal Hammer and Thrash’em All) and achieved a cult status among polish underground metal scene. Unfortunately, after some touring the band went into hiatus and eventually disbanded. Gasiorowski, however, kept creating new music in the Thy Worshiper style defined by ‘Popiol’ using any means available to him, sometimes even translating his ideas into electronics on a home computer. In the meantime he also contributed to various pagan metal and alternative projects.

In 2005 Thy Worshiper returned with a demo and a year later released a new album called ‘Signum’. The new album kept Thy Worshiper’s spirit but frequent use of blast beats, double kicks and high tempos made it much heavier than its predecessor. Shortly after Gasiorowski left Poland and settled in Dublin, Ireland.

In 2009 he met Dariusz Kubala, an old Thy Worshiper fan, and together they decided to recreate Thy Worshiper once again. The band was completed among the circle of their friends musicians. They began rehearsing in summer 2009 and recorded a demo ‘Opowieść Jednej Nocy’ [A Tale of One Such Night] in 2010. The new material follows Thy Worshiper’s signature concept of mixing metal with folk/traditional melodies and interweaving heavy parts with slower acoustic moments, this time moving closer than ever to their folk inspirations. Since their first album Thy Worshiper has been using Polish as it is the language most suited to the pagan sounds of Central and Eastern Europe.

Since 2010 the band has been present on the local concert scene in Dublin supporting Cattle Decapitation, among others. They are confirmed for a few pagan/folk metal festivals for summer-autumn 2011.

In 2012 they've started workings on the new project, which was finished and recorded in March 2013. The new album will be called "Czarna Dzika Czerwien".
