The Siyaphumelela (“We Succeed”)[1] project was set up in 2014, by SAIDE, in response to a need to improve student success and graduation rates with evidence based support[2] The Kresge Foundation, sponsored SAIDE to manage the programme and four institutions to receive four-year grants

- University of Pretoria,
- University of the Free State and
- Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University
Background
[edit]Higher learning in post apartheid South Africa opened the doors to teaching and learning, to a large proportions of first generation students. They then discovered that there student success.[4]
Conference
[edit]The Siyaphumelela annual conference is intended to use data and analytics to promote student success[5]
