I joined the English Wikipedia in 2005, but didn't really start to get involved until some time later. I tried my hand at writing, but most of my content work has been somewhat gnome-ish. Early on, I found that my main calling was to do behind-the-scenes work such as patrolling new pages and cleaning up vandalism. To further those ends, I became an administrator in 2008. In 2011, I began to specialize in the patrolling of sockpuppetry cases, and after working as an SPI clerk for a few months, I was appointed as a CheckUser. I was granted Oversight access in 2013.

^As for the username: I'm not sure where I first heard or read the name, but it has always amused me. Anyway, I am a huge fan of Monty Python, and the name always struck me as being somewhat Pythonesque. I was later stunned to learn that the preconceived notion that I already had was wrong! Well, you learn something new every day, and this is Wikipedia, after all... Someone even mentioned my old username at one of the reference desks. N.B. While I take my admin responsibilities seriously, I take myself about as seriously as this silly username.
