New article name FORGOTTEN SCOTS new article content ... Scots who were removed from their natural familes and 'boarded out' with other families usually in remote rural parts of Scotland. The practice began around 1845 with the Poor Law Amendment Act and ended only in 1968. See case study from the Island of Mull under "External links" below.
