Alexandria M (Lexie) Green is an English Americana, Alternative Country and Folk Rock singer/songwriter. She has released several albums including Twenty Ten & Breathe.

Early Days[edit]

Brought up by her English father and Italian mother, Green lived for most of her childhood in the small village of West Deeping in the county of Lincolnshire. At the age of 5 she was encouraged to learn piano by her mother and continued to take lessons until the age of 15.

Musical Career[edit]

After leaving a career in I.T. as a database programmer to raise her two children Lexie re-discovered her musical flair and began composing songs in 2006. Her first composition 'Bored Housewife' was a mickey take of the then popular TV programme Desperate Housewives and echoed the seemingly perceptions from others of her leaving a career to become a full time mum.
Her first live performance was at a song writing final for the charity Axiom in November 2008 at The Met Lounge, Peterborough. In 2009 Green was awarded a commendation and semi-finalist for The International Song Writing Competition for her songs Slippin' & Mistaken and Everythings Alright was finalist twice for the Festival For Stars contest. Winning best original song for Needle In A Haystack in 2011 at the Strawberry Fair battle of the bands she was introduced to Pete Brazier of The Vertical Rooms Recording Studio who 2 years later would work with on the album 'Breathe'.
The same year Lexie Green & Danny Moore performed at The New Crawdaddy Club as one of six finalists in the South & South-East region for the New Brunswick Harvest & Jazz Festival Battle Of The Blues and the same year Room With A View was used on the 2011 mockumentary film On The Ropes (written and directed by Mark Noyce.

August 2014 Tom Robinson aired Bed Bugs Bite on BBC Introducing Mixtape BBC Radio 6 Music In 2012 she opened for L.A. girl band The Like and twice supported UK actress and songwriter Heather Peace.
2014 Lexie was joined by Sam Carter, Steve Wilson & Kat Moore and began performing as Lexie Green & The Indigo Blue. Performing at The Strawberry Fair, The Fling Festival, The Willow Festival & Ely Folk Festival and supporting John Wheeler of Hayseed Dixies fame.

Musical Style & Influences[edit]

Growing up to the music of Glenn Miller and Holst and owning more than one LP of Tangerine Dream Lexie can't contribute much to a singular artists influence. Not seated in any one singular genre and often confusing reviewers for genre placement the music is better described as leaning more towards Country, Americana and Rock all with a dash of Pop, or, as Lexie calls it 'Tex-Lex'
