User:FireflyBot II/Task 1 details

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why is this task necessary?

[edit]

There is currently a bug with FlaggedRevs, the extension that makes Pending Changes work, which means that some edits from autoconfirmed users that should have been automatically accepted instead get stuck in the Pending Changes queue awaiting review. This causes a needless backlog at PCR, and can irritate autoconfirmed users who have to wait for their changes to become 'live'. All this bot does is restore the status quo ante, by accepting edits from autoconfirmed users.

The bot approved a bad edit! Why?

[edit]

If FlaggedRevs were working as intended, the edit in question would have been automatically accepted - treat it as any other edit and revert if necessary. The bot does not perform any checking of edits, it only looks at whether the user meets the auto-acceptance threshold.
