My current (2016–present) focus on Wikipedia is improving representation of marginalized people. Transgender/nonbinary people and Black people[2] are my priorities. I have been active on the LGBT Studies and Women in Red WikiProjects and the Whose Knowledge? user group.
In June 2016, I created a proposal for the Inspire Campaign to combat harassment by protecting user pages from editing by anonymous and new users. Six months and an RfC later, this idea was implemented via an edit filter. You can read all about it in The Signpost. I also gave a presentation on this subject at WikiConference North America in August 2017.[5]
I contribute to Wikipedia (and Wikimedia Commons) on my own time; no one pays me to do so. If I do ever edit a page directly related to my employment, I will post a COI declaration as appropriate.
I've followed your work for a while, but didn't know you were on WP. I found your userpage just now after Googling to see if there was finally enough sourcing to write a bio for A. Breeze Harper, and discovering somebody had done a better job than I could have. Thanks for all your contributions! FourViolas (talk) 01:52, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the note! :-) Funcrunch (talk) 01:54, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
@Cullen328 and Peteforsyth: Thanks to both of you! I plan to blog about my ten year Wikipediversary later today. Funcrunch (talk) 14:05, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
Congrats on hitting 10,000 and thanks for all your work!
And don't worry, the butter on this toast sandwich is vegan butter :) Astrophobe (talk) 20:54, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
Haha, you must have seen my post on Facebook :-) Thanks, I do love toast! Funcrunch (talk) 20:56, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
The Purple Barnstar
I've seen you targeted by two absolutely unwarranted attacks in the past week. Thank you for your continued efforts to improve Wikipedia, and here's hoping that your future volunteered time is met with less vitriol. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 18:47, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, much appreciated :-) Funcrunch (talk) 18:51, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar
