First established in 2004 by Martin Grogan[1], DeWAR is a maintenance services company which operates in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. DeWAR started out as a plumbing and gas / oil boiler services company, but has since expanded into other service types including air conditioning, refrigeration, roofing and home security.

2013 Website Re-branding:[edit]

In June 2013, it was decided that DeWAR's multiple websites should be made more uniform in both structure and appearance. The colour palette of the original website (yellow, black and white) was kept while the decision to use a uniform WordPress template for all DeWAR websites was also made. The first DeWAR website to use this template was DeWAR Air Conditioning. This was soon followed by DeWAR Secure and DeWAR Roofing. The process of converting the remaining DeWAR websites to this format is currently ongoing.

Awards and Honours[edit]

  • DeWAR was first awarded the internationally accredited ISO 9001:2008 Q Mark for Quality in 2010[2]. DeWAR have since held the award for each successive year and continue to hold it currently.
  • In September 2010 was nominated for two Irish Web Awards; "Best SME / Small Business Site" and "Best eCommerce / Service Website"[3] .
  • In 2010 DeWAR's Alan Grogan won "Service Engineer of the Year" at the Advance Fields Solutions Annual Service Providers Awards [4]

Charity Work[edit]

  • In 2010 DeWAR donated €3,000 to the G.I Unit at Crumlin Children's Hospital on behalf of an initiative run by Hazel Kaneswaran.[5]
  • In March 2011 DeWAR donated four boiler services and three attic insulations (to the value of €2,000) to the Irish Premature Babies fundraising fashion show event[6]
  • In May 2013 DeWAR donated over €1,500 in vouchers to the CARI Foundation as part of their summer lunch and fashion show fundraiser.[7] The CARI foundation is a charity which offers therapy and support to children affected by child sexual abuse.[8]
