From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Geoff Field (at least, this Geoff Field) is a Software Engineer working in the Embedded Systems field since 1986. I have had a number of employers in various fields, including smoke detection (VESDA/Vision Systems - although the VESDA part has been bought out by Xtralis since I worked there), networking (Agilent and Webster Computer Corporation), consulting and now Automotive (with an affiliate of the Yazaki group).

Currently, my role is Software Team Leader. This involves managing other Software Engineers. I'm also an Occupational Health and Safety representative, a First-Aider and a member of the Emergency Crew (Fire Warden).

I am not a radio announcer from Sydney, nor am I a British councillor.

I live in the southern suburbs of Melbourne with my wife and two children.

In my spare time, I play Percussion with a local community band - the Southern Area Concert Band. See http://home.vicnet.net.au/~sacb/ for more information.

I also do Karate with the GKR school - yes, I know some martial artists treat it as a "McDojo". However, it's convenient and non-contact.
