Personal infos[edit]
I was born in 1960 in the south German border region to Switzerland, extending between Lake of Constance, Black Forest and the River Rhine. Now I am living in Freiburg im Breisgau, although I hold my former home in the Hegau in high esteem.
I am a geographer, Sinologist and social anthropologist. Since I had been to Tibet for the first time in 1985, I am mainly preoccupied with the Roof of the World, China and Central Asia. Formerly, I guided many study tours to Tibet and have published on topics concerning Tibetan culture and geography, although mainly in German (if interested you may check my website). Currently, I am doing research on Tibetan nomads.
