Howard Read Brown ( December 16, 1953 ) is an American true-crime researcher and author whose specialty is the 1891 New York City murder of Carrie Brown, a.k.a. "Old Shakespeare". He has written or co-written over fifty articles for various publications since 2004 with his wife Nina Brown ( Born August 11, 1958 in Providence RI.)
Born in Philadelphia, he and his wife reside in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Their full-length work on the murder was 'East Side Story:1891 Murder of Carrie Brown" which was published in 2024.
