"Episode 8", also known as "May the Giant Be with You",[nb 1][2] is the first episode of second season of the American mystery television series Twin Peaks. The episode was written by series co-creator Mark Frost, and directed by series co-creator David Lynch. It features series regulars Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Ontkean, Ray Wise and Richard Beymer; and guest stars Frank Silva as Killer BOB, Carel Struycken as The Giant and Victoria Catlin as Blackie O'Reilly.

Twin Peaks centers on the investigation into the murder of schoolgirl Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), in the small rural town in Washington state for which the series is named. "Episode 8" focuses on the aftermath of the near-fatal shooting of Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent Dale Cooper (MacLachlan). While injured, Cooper is visited by a mysterious figure, The Giant (Struycken), and is given enigmatic clues to aid his investigation into Palmer's death. As Cooper recovers, he attempts to uncover the clues with fellow FBI agent Albert Rosenfield (Miguel Ferrer) and Sheriff Harry S. Truman (Ontkean).

"Episode 8" was first broadcast on September 30, 1990 on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and was watched by an audience of 19.1 million households in the United States, about 20 percent of the available audience. The episode was well received.
