E.Y.E.[edit]

Isavier Jarnard Guyton (born January 18, 1990), who performs under E.Y.E (educated, young, emancipated), is an American singer-songwriter, producer and dancer. E.Y.E. rose to fame in the beginning of the second decade of the 2000s establishing his own indpendent non-profit E.Y.E. Media Group, after creating a respectable fan base with the release of his music on the internet independently. The buzz would allow investors to contribute to the establishment of his independent record label E.Y.E. Records Inc. He would go on to release a series of E.P.s that gained critical recognition in 2008 and 2009. His first number one "Never Leave (She Said)", later would win two of his first Grammy nominations of the critically acclaimed Lustful Sins E.P.. The E.P was his first debut to number ten on the Billboard R&B Charts with 88,000 copies sold and downloaded in the first week. His follow-up sophomore E.P. Heartbreak Sacrifice and Misguided Seductivity, produced the Billboard 100 number one single "Lights Out" making him the first artist in history to reach this on internet sold only distribution. Many praised E.Y.E. innovative marketing with television commercials, broadcasting and appearances without any retail distributors. Heartbreak's Sacrifice/Misguided Seductivity had the highest selling single for an R&B artist in 2010. "Lights Out" would go on to be certified seven-times platinum by RIAA. E.Y.E. is the first and only artist to do this off an internet independent album.

At the 2013 MTV Music Awards, E.Y.E. announced that he and wife Jon Myo would embark on the "Rock The World Tour". The tour was kicked off on July 1st in Paris, France. Before the tour began E.Y.E and wife Jon performed for the first time together since the birth of their child at the 2014 BET Awards June 29th. The performed single Galaxy was rumored to be a promotional single from E.Y.E.'s upcoming album. The live recording was released on i-tunes after re-recording the performance at the opening night of the Rock The World Tour in Paris, France. The single reached number 1 both in France and Switzerland and has been certified double-platinum in the former with little promotion. E.Y.E. EVE. was surprised released at the end of September 2014 and would sell 445,000 copies within the first week in the U.S. alone, making it E.Y.E. first debut at number one on the Billboard 200 charts. The album would sell over 1 million worldwide the following week. E.Y.E. surprised released SYNERGY on May 25, 2016 as an exclusive stream on iTunes and Spotify. Between the two services the album was streamed 255 Million times breaking Drake's previous record of 246.6 Million streams with his album "Views". The streams debuted SYNERGY at #1 on the Billboard 200. E.Y.E. 2nd consecutive #1 on the chart. The total streams totaled sales at 170,000 making SYNERGY the highest debut for an album on the Billboard 200 based on streams alone, beating out Kanye West's "The Life of Pablo" at 90,000. The E.P. would score the top 3 slots on the Billboard Hot 100 with Wake Up (Let Me Be) #1, Synergy #2, Feel Me (Gotta Love You) #3. The E.P. would also score a #1 on the R&B and Rap charts replaces Drake's "One Dance", being the first and only artist to have 3 singles simultaneously debut in the top 3 slots of the Hot 100, R&B and Rap charts. SYNERGY. as a single would in the second week replace Wake UP! (Let Me Be) as #1 on the Billboard chart, making it E.Y.E.'s 3 solo #1 on the chart. He is the 12th artist in Billboard history to replace their own single at #1. Second week sales the Digital Download was available and SYNERGY. sold 406,000 copies, 100,000 being from online streaming, up 167%, making SYNERGY the greatest gainer for second week sales by any artist in 2016. SYNERGY. received the second best review of 2016 to date following Beyonce's "Lemonade" with 91 out of 100 based on 27 reviews from Metacritic. The album was nominated for four Grammy Awards at the 2017 Grammy Nomination Ceremony. The self-titled single was nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance. Single Wake UP! (Let Me Be) was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance. Single #VIBES ft. Chris Cross was nominated for best Rap/Sung Performance. The Mezzage was nominated for Best Rap Song.

E.Y.E. has wanted to associate with commercial outlets as little as possible. "I want my brand to be as raw as possible. Half the reason I have been cautious about releasing albums in stores. People want to be associated with what's trending and cool. I've been blessed to make a career staying independent and true to my music."

Billboard placed Guy E.Y.E. at number ten on their list of Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the Past 25 Years, which is an honor considering he's been around less than all featured artist. E.Y.E. is the top charting independent artist. He has respectively obtained 7 Hot 100 #1s (3 as a lead artist), and has attained 3 U.S Rap, 6 U.S R&B and 4 U.K top singles. He is the top selling independent artist in Billboard history. He is the currently the 10th best-selling digital single artist of all time with 34 million singles sold in the United States.
