Jata Shanker Tripathi (also Jata Shanker) is a Social Activist and Politician . Born in 01 July 1968 ,Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India . Jata Shanker is a post graduate from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University.

1. Executive Director, Manav Seva Sansthan "SEVA": Mr. Jata Shanker is the Executive Director of Manav Seva Sansthan"SEVA", a voluntary organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 in 1988. Under his leadership and guidance the organization has spread its activities in 3 districts of Uttarakhand,10 districts of Uttar Pradesh, 10 districts of Bihar and 1 district in West Bengal. The activities initiated by Mr. Jata Shanker saw the organization breaking grounds and finding new paths in community development.

2. Regional Convener, Cross Border Anti Trafficking Network: In 2002, a South Asian regional conference on Strengthening cross border coordination to combat trafficking was held. It was decided that there is a need to establish a South Asian Regional Network to combat the flesh trade in women and children. Mr. Jata Shanker, thus took the lead to converge Government and Public resources to formCross Border Anti Trafficking Network which eventually turned out to be the biggest Anti-trafficking network in South Asia collating 650 NGOs, Media Persons, Police Personnel, Judiciary, etc.,Presently, this network has been recognized by government and international agencies, also. More than 3 Lakhs people have been counseled by CBATN and Manav Seva Sansthan “SEVA”.

3. Chairman, U.S. Academy & Institute: Learning from a research saying the load of bags on students affects their growth and physical development, Mr. Jata Shanker introduced for the first time in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, the “bagless education” concept. A firm believer in education and academics, he has initiated several education projects for children from the pro-poor community. Starting from the urban community children, the school has now spread its wings in the rural areas of District Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh state, where the school provides free education to girls of the tribal communities.

4. President NFFORAM (National Farmers for Rural Organic): In 2003, Mr. Jata Shanker initiated a nationwide campaign to promote organic agriculture throughout the country. In this campaign, agriculture universities, research institutions, NGOs, Students, Farmers and activists came forward and associated with network. Under the extension strategy,NFFOROAM has established 5 zones in the country – East Zone,West Zone, North Zone, South Zone and Mid Zone. A total of 1052 NGOs from the country are the member of NFFOROAM. Besides, more than 1 Lakh farmers are availing the pleasure of NFFOROAM’s Membership.

5. President DHAAL (Developing Healthy Attitude Towards Life): DHAAL is a state level network to work against HIV/AIDS and endemic diseases. Mr. Jata Shanker founded it in 2008 with NGOs and activists, Panchayats and Government stakeholders. The network has direct reach to more than 1.25 lakh people in the districts of Uttar Pradesh.

6. Organized Community Based Organizations along Indo-Nepal Border: Mr. Jata Shanker has played a significant role in organizing community based organizations along Indo-Nepal border. OBC, Minority, SC and ST people have organized 582 CBOs in the region and thus a total of approx 30,000 people are in direct touch with Manav Seva Sansthan “SEVA”,Gorakhpur.

7. Organizing Mushar Community in Maharajganj District: MSS “SEVA” has established MSS “SEVA” has established 30 Seva Mushar Vikas Parishad in Nichlaul block of district Maharajganj. These Parishads facilitate the Mushar community for their entitlements, rights and government welfare schemes.

8. Reach to community through Self Help Group: MSS has formed 7872 SHGs in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Each SHG is comprised of at least 15 women members. Therefore a total of approx 1,20,000 women are in direct touch of the organization. These SGHs ensure their leading role to get their entitlements and benefit of Govt. welfare schemes.

334 Kilometers Foot March from Shaheed Smarak, Chauri Chaura to Vidhansbha Lucknow, during4th February 2013 to 21st April 2013. In his campaign more than 20,000 peoples took participation.The rally was organized by Purvanchal AIIMS Satyagrah Samiti under leadership of Jata Shanker Tripathi.

Registered a political party from Indian Election Commission on 6th January 2012.

Maha-Panchayat covering 52 villages with more than 10 thousand peoples for establishment of Regulator at Flood Prone Area which is affected since 40 years covering population of 16 Lakhs.

Significant Achievements[edit]

• Under the leadership of Jata Shanker in the anti trafficking campaign, Manav Seva Sansthan "SEVA" has successfully repatriated 9756 victims of trafficking to Nepal, counseled over 150000 cross border migrants, and reunified 1840 girls within India.

• One of the major initiation by Jata Shanker, the toll-free anti trafficking and HIV / AIDS helpline is functional across 15 states in India at 29 junctions

• The Urban and Rural Education projects led by Mr. Jata Shanker has provided worthy education to 500+ Students.

• Manav Seva Sansthan "SEVA" Successfully formed and is managing more than 1500 SHGs and is practicing Microfinance and social marketing activities led by Mr. Jata Shanker

• Protected the dignity of a girl from the hands of traffickers, during his visit as an International Visitor in the United States, for which the Govt.of Arkansas honored him as “Arkansas Traveler”

Rescued and repatriated 26 migrant workers from Eastern Uttar Pradesh confined in Ipoh by a Malaysian employer

In Eastern Uttar Pradesh more than 1 lakh children death and thousands of children handicapped. For fighting against this illicit cause training of 500 social activists at community level and organized campaigns and rallies in Eastern Uttar Pradesh for fighting against Japanese Encephalitis Organized

Working with Berlin Government for inclusive development of Musahar Community in Gorakhpur zone. Allotment of lands (GS Land) to Hundreds of landless families. Organized Bridge Courses for Musahar children. Distributed bi-cycles, carts, livestock, pump sets, hand pumps. Provided agricultural trainings to Musahars. Provided organic farming training to Musahar farmers.

In collaboration with WORLD BANK training thousands of farmers on organic farming.

Supported more than 500 helpless elders with food grains, livelihood, health security.

In collaboration with British High Commission established short stay home for street children.

Establishment of Rehabilitation Center for Street Children in collaboration with Embassy of Japan.

Benefitted 50000 peoples within 5 years in 250 slum hamlets. With 200 workers working on Family Planning, AIDS control, Safe and Good Health in collaboration with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Rescued and distributed relief materials, food grains, temporary tents, clothes, raincoats, hygiene kits with the help of SSB in collaboration with Berlin Government in Munisari, Baluako, Pithauragarh,Jauljibi in Uttrakhand during disaster in 2013. Awarded certificate by Chief Minister of Uttrakhand for supporting in Uttrakhand Disaster Relief.

Constructed 100 permanent shelters, 10 schools in Uttrakhand after disaster in 2013.
