Hi, I'm Joe. I'm an archaeologist at the University of Copenhagen. I do computational archaeology on the human ecology and cultural evolution of foraging societies in Southwest Asian prehistory. My homepage has more about my research if you're interested.

On Wikipedia, I work on articles about archaeology, biographies of scientists, and a handful of other subjects. I think it's important to address systemic biases in our coverage and I set up the women in archaeology task force to that end. I also enjoy making maps: if you want one for an article, please ask!

Behind the scenes, I'm an administrator on the English Wikipedia and a member of its Arbitration Committee. I do maintenance work because I want to help retain good content and good editors, which has led me to new page patrol, articles for deletion, and dispute resolution.

I have one alternative account, Joe Roe (mobile).
