I am a retired geriatrician in the UK, now involved in human rights medicine. I have many interests, not least a variety of aspects of medicine (which I have lived & breathed for the past four decades) and both Quaker and medical history. I have the following professional roles (all unpaid):

  • Education Director, Forrest Medico-Legal Services
  • Faculty member of the Education Department, Royal College of Physicians, London
  • Member of Cochrane UK
  • Referee for papers submitted to Age and Ageing, the main geriatic medicine journal in the UK
  • Trustee (unpaid) of Pity of War, a social awareness and educational charity
  • Recently-retired trustee and member of Science Advisory panel (unpaid) of Animal Free Research UK, a medical research funding charity

I passionately believe in having good evidence to base decisions on, making it available (in an accessible form) for others to use, and thus paying it back to the society that gave me the chances I took and did my best to make the most of.

[DOI: I do not receive any payments apart from my pension and payment for occasional medico-legal reports which I prepare]Kitb (talk) 23:01, 30 May 2021 (UTC) For clarification: although as a geriatrician I could be thought of as having a vested interest in comprehensive geriatric medicine (a page which I created), I no longer earn any money as a geriatrician and all the sources were high grade medical evidence with which I was not involved.]
