Independent State of Croatia (1941-1945) was declared on10 April 1941 after the German occupation troops entered Zagreb. The chief policy of the Ustashe regime was the creation of an ethnically homogenous area in which there will be no place for the members of Serbian, Jewish and Roma minorities, as well as political dissidents, particularly Communists.
