LaBuonaItaliana was created by me,Melanie LoPresti on April 2009, and is my user name on Wikipedia. I have been browsing Wikipedia articles, approximately since 2000, but didn't create a valid user account until about 9 years later. I was born on January 4, 1972 in Hollywood, Florida. I became a General Hospital fan in 1988. My favorite character was Dr. Tony Jones played by Brad Maule. I felt bad for his character, because the writers really put him thru hell. If you look it up in Wikipedia, you'll see why. In June 1990, I graduated from McArthur High. I now work for the Broward County Library since May 23, 1993. I have eclectic entertainment tastes in music, tv, and of course, movies. As you can tell, my main specialty in editing is in entertainment. I decided to have LaBuonaItaliana as my user name, because I am extremely proud of my Italian heritage. On October 19, 2006, my father, Bruno, purchased a satellite dish, so that we would be able to have access to the international feed of RAI network, a major Italian network, which wouldn't be available to cable subscribers or most satellite dish owners, unless they requested it. A few of my favorite shows to watch on RAI network are Ballando con la Stelle, the Italian version of Dancing with the stars, and Affari Tuoi, the Italian version of Deal or No Deal. While on vacation in Padula, Italy, in July 2007, I was watching a program on RAIUno, Don Matteo, a detective show about a priest who solves murder mysteries. During the opening titles of that show, I discovered that game show host Flavio Insinna was actually an actor originally. I was so impressed by his acting talents, that I saw a few of his movies, including St. Peter, Don Bosco, and La Buona Battaglia. Then a year later, I saw Flavio in Ho Sposato Uno Sbirro, where he was the main character. It wasn't until December 2008, when I saw clips of Eurovision Song Contest on YouTube, where I discovered great singing talents of legendary Italian singers, Gigliola Cinquetti and Massimo Ranieri, as well as a Finnish singer, Fredi, who represented Finland in 1967 and 1976, but lost to the UK's singers both times. :( In February 2009, I fell in love with Massimo and became a fan. Not only is Massimo a great singer but also a great actor. Another great Italian singer/actor is Adriano Celentano. If you have not seen his films, you must see them. Almost 20 years after I gave up on General Hospital, i rediscovered Brad Maule, only because i fell in in love with him (again) thanks to the many Youtube clips of him on GH, and of course, someone posted on his wikipedia page, that he hosts his own radio talk show. :D If you want to get in touch with me, my email address is FlaviosWife@gmail.com. Please feel free to leave comments, questions, etc.
