Lijil is a pseudonym for Jill Walker Rettberg. I'm a professor of Digital Culture at the University of Bergen, Norway. My research interests include social media, electronic literature, cybertext, net art, email narratives, blogging and other forms of new media culture. I'm an Australian citizen and a Norwegian resident.

I blog at jill/txt.

I've written two books. Seeing Ourselves Through Technology: How We Use Selfies, Blogs, and Wearable Devices to See and Shape Ourselves was published by Palgrave Macmillan in October 2014 and is also available as a free, CC-BY download. The second edition of Blogging was published in 2013 (though the copyright page says 2014) by Polity Press. I also co-edited an anthology of scholarly articles about World of Warcraft (MIT Press, 2008).

Here's my Google Scholar page.
