Wikipedia Loses an Editor[edit]

In an unfortunate turn of circumstances, my former adversary, Chadbryant, has been let go from the Wikipedia community. Although Chad and I have had a stormy working relationship here, I am still saddened to see him go. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Linden Arden 22:51, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Linden Arden Is Back, Baby!!![edit]

Despite Chadbryant's best efforts to get me permanently banished from Wikipedia, I have returned. I harbor no ill will toward Chadbryant. As a matter of fact, I hope that we can reconcile our differences and be partners in creating a better Wikipedia for all.

What You, the Reader, Need to Know about Ol' Linden Arden[edit]

My user name, Linden Arden, is an allusion to a song from Van Morrison's 1974 album Veedon Fleece. As much as I'd like to edit using my given name, I fear that disagreements on Wikipedia might possibly be carried over into the real world, creating problems that my family and I just don't need.

I am the proud father of a newborn son, Evan Chandler. He is the light of my life. Since his birth, I have felt a renewed commitment to the ideals of humanism and harmony. Self-admittedly, in the years preceding his birth, my cyber life was characterized by contention and chest-thumping insolence. I guess you could say I'm undergoing a rebirth of sorts. However, I would say that my former foes would beg to differ, and in all honesty, they would be entirely justified in doing so. "Whoever digs a pit (for another man's feet) shall fall into it himself, and he who rolls a stone (up a height to do mischief), it will return upon him."

The Reformation of Linden Arden[edit]

I feel this note to [Refactored] sums it up quite succinctly:

[Refactored] I Understand Your Scepticism
Our story is one of contention, both here and abroad. However, since the birth of my first child, a son (Evan Chandler S.), on Wednesday evening, I have come to realize that this world is ripe for positive contribution and generativity. Man to man, you and I must put all previous contention aside and embark upon a new age. An epoch, if you will, that will demonstrate to the next generation and beyond that we are/were men hellbent on leaving this world better than we found it. Please, I implore you, [Refactored], take my hand and we will, we must, cut across all man made boundaries to school the new world in universal love and enlightenment. We are one....Linden Arden

Linden Arden Loves the Indie[edit]

I am eternally grateful to Pitchfork for turning me on to all things musically Indie. Currently, I spend a lot of time listening to the new Danielson as well as the Beirut release. Also, I'm heavily digging the latest Sonic Youth.

Also of late, I have been skimming the surface of Krautrock. Can have become indispensable with Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi, Future Days, and Soon Over Babaluma in heavy rotation in the "Linden Arden" household.

Lest I be remiss, I must mention the California fellows who served as my own personal gateway into the world of the Indie, Pavement. Pavement's "former" frontman, Stephen Malkmus, continues to rebel against the bourgeois ennui of middle aged expectations.
