Lumpsum The Illuminated is the stage name of David Bompart an emcee and spoken word artist born in Long Island New York raised in Hartford CT. His father was a thankfully absent heroin addict of afro latino descent and his mother is a polish-american adoptee raised by a Italian-American Family in Bayshore NY. Established and recognized among the elite in his small cities thriving hip hop scene. He has battled and crushed any challengers to his status. Having released his first mixtape “The Ominous Chronicles Vol.1” moving 5000 copies to rave reviews. Lumpsum is primed and ready to grab the ears brains, souls, and spirits of the nations youth. With influences ranging from Hip Hop greats such as KRS-ONE and Big Daddy Kane to Bill Withers, Prince, and The Charlie Daniels Band to great speakers such as Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. Lumpsum draws his inspiration from the world around him, as well as the various worlds opened to him through fantasy novels, comic books, and movies, presenting to the best of his ability the concepts of truth,honor, loyalty, and awareness in an industry that rejects integrity and makes millions pushing extremely negative messages. Along with fellow Hartford Emcees Abu-Bless, Cre8, MoveTheCrowd, LeftHands, JoeyBatts, among others, he promotes and hosts weekly Hip Hop Open Mics as well as various showcases, live shows and festivals throughout the area, where he honed his lyrical skills and performance techniques to razor sharp perfection. The open mic and showcase now featured at Asylum Cafe on Asylum Street in Downtown Hartford, CT has been a Hartford staple for over 10 years and attracts all sorts or performers, including singers, poets, and battle-thirsty rappers from all over New England and the tristate area, Many of whom come with an air of superiority only to leave deflated, but wiser for the experience. A founder and member of two rap crews crews, Filthy Kleen and The Connecticut Supergroup The RawLordz, he has released numerous Street Mixtapes, both solo and group projects. He opened for acts such as the Perceptionists (Mr.Lif and Akrobatik), Jim Jones and JR Writer. Appearing onstage along side such acts as KRS-ONE, Living Colour, Tableek of MasPyke, Dooly O, Blakastan, Blak Philly, Joey Batts, H.U.S.HH Ent. Asylum Lifetime and others, he’s held his own and shined amongst some true lyrical powerhouses. Lumpsum has appeared as a featured artist on the compilation album “Heroes and Villians” distributed by Double E Records, and on a collaboration track featured on Angela Luna’s solo debut. He was also featured on a Hot 97 “Who’s Next” Mixtape. Lump is widely featured on the soon to be released Infected Tongues Compilation Album featuring artists from the southern New England area, as well as his solo debut, entitled Capricorn One, which is due out on September 11, 2011 released under his own label RawLordz Wreckordz. Truly a rising star on the underground Hip Hop scene.
