My name is Madison Hope Kennard. I love my middle name, I have an older sister and her name is Victoria Faith. I was born in Prestonsburg, KY and I have lived there since then. I am a nineteen year old sophomore at the University of Pikeville. I am currently in my first year of the social work program. I plan to graduate with my bachelors degree in social work, and then continue on to get my masters. I would love to work with special needs children and their families. One of my cousins has Autism, and I love being able to interact with her and learn more about her. Children with special needs really have a special place in my heart, and I wanna learn as much as I can about them. I am first and foremost a Christian and I put God first before anything else. I attend church at Martin First Assembly of God and I've been a member there since I was eight years old. It's my second home. I am a very friendly person, but shy when you first meet me. I'm all about my family, I love spending time with them more than anything else. I'm extremely close to them. My mom is my number one fan, and I really don't know what I would do without her. I am engaged to my best friend, and will be getting married June 2015 and I couldn't be happier. I have one nephew named Cason, and one nephew on the way named Collin. I absolutely adore being an aunt. I love shopping. Marshalls, Tjmaxx, and American Eagle are my favorite stores. Shoes are my favorite thing to shop for, I probably have around sixty pairs of shoes, I can never have too many. I'm a simple type of gal, I don't need too much to make me happy. I get attached to people very easily, and I have a hard time letting people go. I'm not good with coping with new situations, but I'm working on it. I've been to Paris, France. I went on a mission's trip, and it was an experience I'll never forget. I love being at home but I also love to travel. I hate flying, I would much rather be in a car instead. I like having my life planned out, I don't like just going with the flow. I like to have a schedule with everything. I'm terrified of snakes, and spiders they creep me out on a ridiculous level. I love watching movies, but I never buy any. I'm obsessed with my engagement ring and I never take it off, even though it needs to be sized. I love summer time and laying out by my pool. I love the way the trees look and how warm it is outside. I also love summer because my birthday is in July.
Technology Has Always Been My Thing
Technology has always been a part of my life. Whether it was a little Ipod Nano, or a desktop computer. I've always had a love for technology. It's so fascinating how you can do so much on such a small device. Technology has improved tremendously in the past few years and it blows me away. We went from having huge bulky desktop computers to having small hand-held devices that can do literally anything you can imagine. From checking your e-mail, checking your Facebook page, uploading pictures, watching videos/movies, and many other different things. I currently have an Iphone 5, and I think it's remarkable. It's so fast and easy to use. I never use a laptop (unless I have a paper due). It takes such a short amount of time to look something up, or to watch a video, it's the neatest thing. It makes life easier. Even the older generation is starting to use technology more, because it's so easy to use. I've always wanted a Mac-book, there the best computers out there (in my opinion). Our generation doesn't know what it's like to not have technology.
I honestly don't know what I would do without it. It's so fun to be able to communicate so freely with others, whether it be on Facebook or through a text message. It's also cool that you can upload pictures that you want your family and friends to see in the blink of an eye. I get to communicate with family members, and friends that I don't get to see and it really makes it a lot easier on me. I've always been a fan of technology, I really don't remember a time that I never went without it (unless I was grounded). A lot of people think it's a bad thing, or that it's a waste of time but I think the pros outweigh the cons.
Wikipedia Turns Out To Be Good
Wikipedia is a lot more useful than I thought. My high school teachers also lectured me that it was the worst possible website to get information from, they basically said it was a "No-no". I never really questioned them, I just listened and never thought about it again until I began college. Unlike what my high school teachers said, it happens to be very useful. You just have to be careful of which information you use, and make sure it has true websites, not just ones someone made up for the fun of it. I really enjoy using Wikipedia, it's quick and most of the time very reliable unless you don't pay attention to the information you're using. I would much rather use Wikipedia than Google or another search engine. I think it's really neat that people can put information on themselves, and add something that they find useful. I find it interesting to look at and to use for school work. My views about Wikipedia have changed dramatically. I should have formed my own personal opinion, instead of just listening to what a teacher had to say about it. It would have helped me a lot in high school. I've been in college for almost two years and it has helped me with a lot of papers. Some of the information may not be true, but most of it is accurate and extremely useful. I used to rely on Google for everything, but now instead I look at Wikipedia to find the valuable information I was looking for.
