Jeffrey S. Moore (born 1962) is the Murchison-Mallory Professor of Chemistry, Professor of Materials Science & Engineering, and a Part-Time Faculty Member at the Beckman Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Jeff Moore received his B.S. in chemistry in 1984 from the University of Illinois, and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering with Samuel Stupp in 1989. After a NSF postdoctoral position at Caltech with Robert Grubbs, he began his independent career at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He returned in 1993 to the University of Illinois, where he is currently the Murchison-Mallory Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science and Engineering.

Research interests[edit]

"[Moore group] research involves the synthesis and study of large organic molecules and the discovery of new polymeric materials. Most projects relate to one of three areas: new macromolecular architectures and their supramolecular organization; responsive polymers including self-healing materials; mechanochemical transduction.
