Hi there, my name is Miyagawa. I'm not Japanese - in fact, the name originally came to me from a different encyclopaedia - Microsoft Encarta 1995. It was the surname of one of the writers of the article on Japan, and I was looking for a character name for the Legend of the Five Rings Roleplaying Game when it launched in 1997; it became my character's name and afterwards my online pseudonym. Had the surprise of my life when I found out it was a type of satsuma. I can say that I've eaten a Miyagawa.

2016 was a big year was a big year for one of main interests - the 50th anniversary of Star Trek hit on September 8, and with some organising I arranged for the first main page takeover in Wikipedia history. Complete sets of DYKs, a Featured Article and a Featured Image all based on Star Trek. So what's up for next year? Well I can rely on some editing competitions to keep my interests diverse, and I've found a new love in Chinese warships. I also intend to work up articles related to the NAAFI as well, and at some point I'll return to Trek, although I suspect a bit more sporadically than before.

Thank you to everyone who fixes any issues with my prose - I'm really very grateful. I'm happy to respond to requests for sources, in particular regarding Star Trek. The complete list of the source books that I can easily access are here. Miyagawa (talk) 23:31, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
