Personal Talk[edit]

Dr. Muralidhar Avvari was born on 5th August 1985 in Alur to Retired Headmaster and farmer Avvari venkata Rangaiah and his wife Avvari koteswaramma. He is a younger son among all ten children (Leelavathi, Padmavathi, Kumari, Bharathi, Lakshmi, Lalitha, Balanagamma, Parvathi, Eswarrao, and Muralidhar) for their parents. He has one elder brother and eight sisters which they got married before his schooling itself. Always, he felt very sad for missing his parents, because he brought up by his caring sister (padmavathi) upto graduation level. He studied up to second class in sarada convent English medium school in Dhone,Kurnool district and his third to fifth class studied in Alur Govt prathamika school. Then sixth to 10th, studied in Navodaya High School and obtained 3rd position in tenth class board exams in dhone mandal in the year 2000. He completed his intermediate in Premeir Jr college in Kurnool in the year 2002. At the same time got a rank in EAMCET for graduation in Engineering. Following he was selected Mechanical Engineering department in G pulla reddy engineering college at kurnool itself. Though he was pursuing his final year, joined as Micro Irrigation Engineer in Premier Irrigation Equipment Ltd in Hyderabad. After one year again decided to do for further studies. Like wise he got seat in NIT kurukshetra for PG in the year 2008. He worked as Assistant professor in the same institute after his MTech for one year. Finally, he was completed his Doctoral Degree (PhD) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Karnataka from August 2011 to September 2014. Further, he worked for Eight months in REVA University as Assistant Professor in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Further, he has acheived POST DOCTORAL Research Fellowship from University of Johannesburg in 2016. Currently he is working as Assistant Professor in Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia.

Research Highlights[edit]

Aerospace/Auto mobile/Naval industries are mainly focused on increasing in fuel efficiency by using lightweight products to save the energy. Magnesium and its alloys are the future materials than aluminum, Titanium, and steel because of its strength to weight ratio. The strength and ductility of the magnesium and its alloys are less than aluminum and steel at room temperature. Hence, Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) techniques are being used to enhance the mechanical properties of the wrought magnesium alloys. As already discussed in this proposal, magnesium alloys have minimum slip systems to activate at room temperature for developing the high strength and ductility. In the present scenario, Improvement of the mechanical properties is the main task than cost of the material. Remain; the cost of the material would be compensated in terms of strength to weight ratio of the material. Hence, magnesium and its alloys need to process to improve the properties through micro-structural changes for many applications such as aerospace, automobile, transportation, nuclear, and other electrical & electronic industries.
