Jungle High School (ko)

Bul sa-jo often uses his rotten skill to use a Friend Shield skill; that is, to block a teacher's hit with Young-soo, therefore kicking him out of the school.
- Myeong Wang-sung (명왕성)
Literally translated from Korean, his name is Pluto. The second ranking student in the entire nation, he went around the schools in Korea stalking all the school valedictorians in the process, until he lost to Bul Sa-jo. He is of a rival relationship with Bul Sa-jo, and does not accept the expulsion of Pluto as a planet.
- The Emotionless Girl (무표정소녀)
A school valedictorian who committed suicide some years ago in Jungle High School, she has little impact on the story but has a title image. In the beginning of the cartoon she had the role of introducing the main characters, but now she has the role of comedy. In the Gold-Plated Bell (a play on Golden Bell) episode, she helped Bul Sa-jo, the final survivor, answer the final question correctly. Myeong Wang-sung falls in love with her at first sight. When he declares his love to her in episode 211, she is first seen smiling.
The main character wakes up one day to see a Pokémon standing next to him/her, and the Pokémon explains that it has found him/her fainted at that spot of land. He/she is startled to find that he/she has been transformed into a Pokémon, but without any memory of his/her past, except for the fact that he/she is human. In a world devastated by many natural disasters - disasters that have only begun to happen quite recently - he/she is asked for help by a distressed Butterfree, who asks him/her and the other Pokémon for help to find her child, Caterpie, in the nearby Tiny Woods. After the rescue, the player's partner suggests that the two of them should join forces and form a rescue team.
The team soon grows in numbers when Magnemite is convinced to join the rescue team after the team's third mission, which involves saving Dugtrio's son, a Diglett, from a vicious Skarmory. The Magnemite becomes a "friend", who can be asked to come on rescue missions. The team also meets other rescue teams, including a top-ranked rescue team consisting of Alakazam, Charizard and Tyranitar, named Team ACT (This name is not specifically given in the game, but rather the anime special based on the game.), which corresponds to the first letter of the three Pokemon's names. The team also makes enemies unwittingly with another rescue team, Team Meanies, consisting of Gengar, Ekans, and Medicham, who seek world domination under the disguise of a rescue team.
The bulk of the game story revolves around a legend first told to the player by Whiscash. The legend tells that whoever touches a Ninetales' tail will be cursed for a thousand years, and that a human had deliberately grabbed the tail of Ninetales, a Pokémon known for its longevity. As a result, Ninetales laid a curse on the human, but the human's Pokémon companion, Gardevoir, selflessly put herself in the way. Ninetales, feeling sorry for Gardevoir, asked the human if they wanted to help Gardevoir, but the human had already abandoned Gardevoir and fled. Ninetales predicted that the human would eventually be reborn as a Pokémon, and that the natural balance of the world would be upset.
In the quest to discover the player's lost memory and purpose as a Pokémon, the team quests to the Hill of the Ancients, where the fortune-teller Xatu resides. Xatu is quick to realize that the player was once a human, and tells that the player's human-to-Pokémon transformation is tied together with the natural disasters. It also warns that the world's balance must be restored, or the unthinkable shall happen. This conversation is eavesdropped upon by Team Meanies' Gengar.
The next day, Gengar reveals the player's secret to the townsfolk and says that eliminating the human-turned-Pokémon in the legend would bring everything back to normal. The partner, in unwavering support of the player, doubts Gengar's assertion, but the player is unable to speak in his/her defense, saying that the reason for this is because he/she is privately haunted by the notion that he/she may be the human from the Ninetales legend, a notion heightened by the fact that the Pokémon in his/her dreams had revealed herself to be Gardevoir. Gengar easily convinces everyone else that the player is the cause of the world's balance being upset and of the natural disasters and must be eliminated. The partner complains at the player for not defending himself/herself, but the player tries to convince the partner that it doesn't deserve to be on their rescue team. However, the partner is sure that even the player's dream didn't help them remember what happened, so they shouldn't be so sure. They are then confronted by Alakazam, who says the Pokémon held a town meeting on what they must do to save the world: they must find and kill the player, and anyone who sides with him/her. They give the team one night to get away.
The two leave Pokémon Square as fugitives and make their way to the northeastern most part of the world in an effort to elude the teams that are now hunting them down. Along the way, they encounter the legendary birds Moltres,Articuno and Zapdos who also feel the effects of the disasters in their respective areas. They also befriend an Absol who seeks to find the true cause of the natural disasters. The trio reaches the top of Mt. Freeze only to be cornered by Team ACT. They get ready to finish the player and partner off, but mere seconds after the battle begins, they are stopped by Ninetales, who reveals that the player is not the human in the legend. The partner is overjoyed by this news, and Alakazam apologizes to the team. Ninetales also says that the human-to-Pokémon transformation is not tied together with the natural disasters at all, but also reveals that the world is in greater danger caused by the awakening of Groudon.
Team ACT proceeds to try and stop Groudon, while the team heads home to clear all remaining suspicion at Pokémon Square. When they arrive, Gengar attempts to rally the townsfolk into destroying the rescue team once and for all. Fortunately, the townsfolk, inspired by Caterpie, choose to believe their true friends. Pelipper delivers a paper exposing Gengar's malicious lies and declaring the player's rescue team innocent, and the town turns on Team Meanies, chasing them to the pond.
Shortly after being declared innocent, Gardevoir reappears in the player's dreams. She tells the player that he/she has a certain role, but before Gardevoir can say anything else, the dream is interrupted by an earthquake. The next day, the player and the partner worry that Team ACT hasn't come back from their mission to quell Groudon.
Battling Groudon and rescuing Team ACT
The partner and player want to rescue the missing Team ACT, but Lombre refuses to let them go, saying there are plenty of tougher Pokémon than them. Shiftry convinces three of the best Pokémon, Team Hydro's Blastoise, Team Constrictor's Octillery, and Team Rumblerock's Golem to form a special rescue team and rescue Team ACT. After a few days, the special team returns defeated, not even having gotten far enough to even reach Groudon. Gengar shows up to discourage the Pokémon at the square, but the player and his/her partner are able to get everyone's spirits back up, and volunteer to rescue Team ACT themselves. This restores everyone's spirits and they decide to rescue Team ACT by working together. That night, Gardevoir appears once again in the player's dream and tells the player that his/her role is coming to its end.
When the team reaches Magma Cavern they find Charizard and Tyranitar defeated, with Alakazam fighting against Groudon alone - but is quickly defeated. The team takes matters into their own hands and defeat Groudon. They return back to town as heroes, but their celebration is short-lived as grave news arrives from Xatu via telepathy: a huge meteor, revealed to be the true cause of the natural disasters, is heading for the world, threatening to destroy it. The only way to stop it is to ask for help from the sky guardian Rayquaza. But to send Pokémon to the sky requires the combined psychic powers of both Alakazam and Xatu, leaving the player's team the only ones capable of heading into the sky and seeking Rayquaza's aid.
The night before setting off, the player starts to feel horrible, as Gengar is looking into his/her dream with Dream Eater, hoping to find a negative thought in the player's heart to exploit. However, a light descends on the player, causing Gengar to flee and the dream returning to normal. The player then learns from the spirit Gardevoir that the player's purpose as a Pokémon is to save the world. The player willingly turned into a Pokémon as a test of courage, being told the truth only if the player passed the test. Now that the star is hurtling towards the planet, Gardevoir reveals that only after saving the world could the player return to human form - yet to do so would be parting ways with the partner, who had stuck beside the player through the hardest of times.
Alakazam and Xatu, along with an unnamed ghost Pokémon accomplice (believed to be Gengar), complete the Teleport Gem allowing the team to reach the Sky Tower. Once there, however, they find that Rayquaza is less than cooperative. They are forced to battle Rayquaza in order to force its cooperation, and Rayquaza agrees to use its Hyper Beam to destroy the meteor, despite its warnings to the player and partner that they were being so close that the Hyper Beam could kill them.
Adrift within the star's explosion, the player finds him/herself in a dark fog. Gengar tries to drag the player into the "dark world" as revenge, but decides to let the player go at the last minute. The team reawakens on the ground, surrounded by their supporters, where they find that the world is safe once again. Soon enough, the natural disasters plaguing the world of Pokémon are slowing down. However, the player realizes that with peace once again on the horizon, they must return to being a human and leave the Pokémon world behind.
The Pokémon are shocked by the player's sudden departure, and realize that the player had changed all of their lives in some way - none more than the partner, who bursts into tears. The player, too, feels remorse in his/her heart for having to leave behind a dear friend. Once the credits roll, a voice says "If you wish with all your heart, you and your partner's paths may cross again someday." The player wishes, and returns to the rescue team base, where all the town's Pokémon are gathered and surprises all the supporters by returning in Pokémon form, and a celebration begins.
After the story
Once the player Pokemon returns,a shard of the destroyed meteor opened a secret cave under Whiscash Pond. Snubull, a town citizen, accidentally fell into the cave, and evolved. Snubull (now Granbull) was found by the player Pokemon and Team ACT, all of which were doubtful how Snubull evolved, except Alakazam. He explained how Snubull evolved, enabling evolution. In the cave lies a giant crystal, which enables an enamation of a voice, which asks if you seek evolution. Answer yes, and if you meet all the requirements, you will evolve.
Gengar story arc
It is revealed in one of these sidequests after the credits, that the human from the Ninetales legend is Team Meanies' Gengar, who, after encountering the spirit Gardevoir in the player's dreams, and overhearing her line about having a lifelong friend, realizes that friend was him, and is filled with mixed emotions. In an effort to redeem himself, he asks the player to escort him to Mt. Freeze to ask Ninetales how to end the curse. After receiving a special crest from Ninetales, the player and Gengar go to Murky Cave, where Gardevoir's physical body is held. Upon placing the crest in a slot, Gengar is told by an ominous voice that it is time for him to begin his chance for redemption. However, the player is the one who will be answering the questions instead of Gengar. Despite the player's answers, the voice declares that the curse is too strong to be broken, in an attempt to draw out Gengar's true feelings. It is successful, and Gengar then somewhat tearfully pleads, explaining that the reason he fled from Gardevoir was because he was afraid that the price for Gardevoir's salvation would be that the curse would fall on him, and he had to get away at any cost. He finally appreciates his friends' gratitude; both of Gardevoir sacrificing herself, his friendship with Medicham and Ekans, and of the player's team escorting him to his destinations and saving him from the falling meteor despite his terrible deeds. This sense of gratitude proves to be the key to unlocking the curse. Gengar redeems himself, proven a good Pokémon, and he and Gardevoir are free. However, she loses memory of Gengar being her partner, and joins the player's team. It is never said if Gengar remains a Pokémon or not, but his team's attitude suggests they have turned over a new leaf and is possible he decided to stay a Pokémon becoming Gardevoir's love interest. As a reward for the player's help, Gengar will give him/her a Mobile Scarf, which allows the player to walk on air, lava, water, and the walls.
Part 1 - The New Exploration Team
The story begins with a huge storm. Two voices are calling out to each other, trying not to be separated by a mysterious force. There is a giant crash, and the voices are separated. One survives, but the fate of the other is unknown.
It then goes to show the player, after washing up on a beach. Meanwhile, the partner is nervous about joining the Wigglytuff Guild, a local exploration guild, and gives up after hearing a voice shout up at them from below the grate covering the sentry post. Walking along the beach, the partner encounters the player, and informs that the player has been turned into a Pokémon, though neither of them have any idea why. After a brief exchange, the partner explains their motivation for joining the guild; the partner loves legends and lore, and his/her life's dream is to find out what his personal treasure, the Relic Fragment, belongs to. Before the partner explains further, the Relic Fragment is stolen by Zubat and Koffing, members of an exploration team named Team Skull, which the player helps recover. The partner, reinvigorated by the player's courage, joins the Guild as a new team with the player.
Over the next few days, the team gets accustomed to life at the Guild and the nearby Treasure Town. Among the folks they meet are Wigglytuff, the kindhearted, slightly silly Guild Leader, Chatot, the hot-tempered yet well-meaning second-in-command, Bidoof, the newest recruit prior to the team joining, the Guild chef Chimecho (also in charge of maintaining the team), Diglett and Loudred, the Guild sentries, Dugtrio, maintainer of the job boards, Corpish, a worker who has no special duty at the guild, Magnezone, the local sheriff, and other exploration teams. As they are introduced to the Guild, they learn of the fact that rogue Pokémon have been wreaking havoc in the world due to the disruption of time, Pokémon cannot evolve, and new "Mystery Dungeons" have been revealed and open to exploration.
After completing a few minor missions (and also capturing a wanted bandit, Drowzee), the player and partner are assigned to their first exploration; Waterfall Cave. Upon arriving, all they see is a rushing waterfall. The two must leap through the waterfall, which was revealed by the player's Dimensional Scream vision. The Dimensional Scream guides them through the cave, and eventually they are washed out in a giant flood, (which was triggered when the partner touches a mysterious gem that is never explained) however they are fine.
One night, the partner tells the player an old legend, of the Time Gears. The Time Gears are responsible for the flow of time in the world. If a Time Gear is stolen from its natural habitat, time will stop in that area. While the partner is narrating the legend, a scene is shown where a mysterious figure steals a Time Gear from deep in a forest, and laughs gleefully when he steals it.
Later, after the Waterfall Cave exploration, the team are assigned to retrieve apples from a nearby forest called Apple Woods. They are sabotaged by Team Skull, who is now flanked with their leader, Skuntank. Skuntank nearly tricks the player and partner to get the apples, but when his deceit is revealed, he agrees to fight, but then unleashes a cheap knockout gas on them, knocking them out, called his and Koffing's "Noxtious Gas Combo"". The player and partner wake up to see that Team Skull and all of the apples are gone. When they return to the guild, they are chastised and punished by Chatot, and later Team Skull takes all of the glory for bringing back a Perfect Apple to Wigglytuff, but in a side conversation, this is revealed to be a ploy, as part of their plan to gain the guild's trust..
The whole guild, with Team Skull, go on an exploration to Fogbound Lake, a previously untouched area shrouded in mystery, literally. Team Skull only wants to go to outshine the player and partner, and to claim all of the treasure that the guild finds.
The player, partner, and Bidoof travel together, and become close over the course of the journey. When entering the Lake, the player feels a strange sense of revisiting, and Chimecho recites a legend she has learned about Uxie, and his ability to wipe minds clean. The player and partner are alarmed, because they think that that must be what happened to the player, and how it lost its memory.
With the help of Corpish, the team finds a mountain with Fogbound Lake at the top. Corpish rushes back to tell the Guild of their discovery, while the player and partner go to explore the mountain. Team Skull catches up to them, though, and tries to prevent them from going into the cave, and prepares to unleash their noxious gas attack. However, Wigglytuff shows up just in time, and inadvertandly stops the fight. The player and partner advance into the mountain, while Wigglytuff takes Team Skull back to the camp. Team Skull plans to slaughter Wigglytuff right there, and unleash the attack they used to the player back at the apple mission on Wigglytuff.
Meanwhile, the player and partner reach the top of the mountain. After defeating a Groudon (actually an illusion conjured by Uxie to protect Fogbound Lake from being trespassed upon), the player learns that, unfortunately, they never did visit Fogbound Lake. Instead, they found a hiding place to one of the Time Gears. Uxie is the Gear's protector. The Guild swears to never reveal the location of the Gear to anyone. Also, it was not Uxie who drained the player of its memory, and the player is no closer to learning of his past. The Guild members decide to view the lovely sight for a few more minutes.
The guild members return to Treasure Town, without Team Skull, for Wigglytuff had easily defeated them back at the Lake. However, he doesn't mention it to the guild.
Part 2 - The Time Gears
Returning from the exploration, a famous solo explorer, Dusknoir, visits the guild. He is famous in those parts, and helps out the guild because he is impressed by their members. He asks many questions about the recent exploration, but the guild members tell him nothing of their discovery.
Meanwhile, Team Skull returns to Treasure Town. They have a vengance for Wigglytuff, and decide to take it out on the 'wimpy' player and partner. They steal a Water Float (an incredibly rare item that belonged to Marill and Azurill, citizens in Treasure Town) and put it deep in Amp Plains, to lure the team in there. The player and partner travel to Amp Plains to claim the Water Float for the citizen. However, it is a season for Luxio and Luxray, extremely aggressive and territorial Pokémon, and soon the player and partner find themselves surrounded by the vicous Pokémon, as Team Skull planned. Dusknoir races through the plains and barely saves them, and earns everyone's trust.
Later, at the beach, the player and partner decide to tell Dusknoir about the player's ability to see into the future or past after touching something, wondering if he will know why the player has that ability. Dusknoir tells them it is an ability called the Dimensional Scream. He asks the player for his/her name, and seems to know it when he hears it, although he won't say why.
Shortly after, Grovyle the Thief (the mysterious figure who stole the first Time Gear a while back) steals the Time Gear in Fogbound Lake, as reported by Chatot. In order to find out where Groyvle will strike next, the player and partner eventually are sent to explore a nearby desert. They find a dead end, and no Time Gear. However, the player has a feeling similar to the one felt at the Fogbound Lake.
The next day, the two return and disocovery the Underground Lake by jumping into the Quicksand Pit. At the very end, they battle Mesprit, who is the guard of this Time Gear. Mesprit thinks that THEY are the thieves, and not Grovyle, and fights them. All three are weakened drastically by the time the player and partner prove their innocence. Only minutes later, Grovyle himself appears, and is easily able to defeat them. He steals the Time Gear, which causes time to freeze in the cave - with the player, partner, and Mesprit still in it! The three barely escape with their lives, and return to Treasure Town.
Back at the guild, Dusknoir reveals that Grovyle is not of this world; he is from the future. Grovyle is an outlaw in the future, and he fled to the past to steal the Time Gears and stop time, so the future will never happen, and he will never be caught. If Grovyle manages to steal the final Time Gear, then all time in the world will grind to a hault.
Later, Dusknoir says that since 2 members of the Sinnoh Lake Trio (Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf) are protecting Time Gears, then the third (Azelf) must be protecting another one, and that since the first two Time Gears were in hidden places, the third would be in a place they would least expect. With the help of Bidoof, it is revealed in the player's Dimensional Scream that the final Time Gear is in Crystal Lake. In the vision, Grovyle has badly hurt Azelf, but Azelf will not give in. The Guild determines that the Scream took place in the near future, so they still have some time left. The team rushes to the Crystal Lake, only to find themselves in the player's Scream, battling Grovyle. Grovyle overpowers them, and is about to steal the next Time Gear, but Azelf triggers a protective wall of crystals around the lake. Grovyle cannot penetrate it, and so the Time Gear is saved.
Then, Dusknoir arrives and attempts to catch Grovyle. It is revealed that the two of them know each other from somewhere. Groyvle escapes from Dusknoir, though without the Time Gear. The team, Dusknoir, and Azelf return to Treasure Town.
Several days later, Dusknoir holds a town meeting, and reveals all. Grovyle was a Pokémon from the future who wanted to avoid capture, and fled to this world to do so. But after much plotting, he came across a wicked plan: causing the planet's paralysis, which is caused by the complete halting of time, and the depletion of much life in this world, in which it has become dark and barren.
When Corphish asks why Dusknoir knows all this, he responds with a shocking truth-he is too a Pokémon from the future, and to avoid alerting Grovyle to his prescence, he kept low about his identity.
The town's Pokémon are determined to help, and on Dusknoir's orders, decide to spread a rumor about the permanent sealing of the final Gear, in order to lure Grovyle. But Dusknoir reveals that since Grovyle will be cautious as to the large numbers of Pokémon in the area, he must perform this task with the Lake Trio's help only. The Pokémon reluctantly consent.
A few days pass, and Dusknoir is announced to have captured Grovyle, and will be returning home to the future. The Pokémon go to Treasure Town to hear his final words, and the find the Lake Trio there, who reveal the Time Gears are safe and sound, and that they will be returned to their rightful places. Dusknoir then shows up with Grovyle muzzled, with the help of two Sableye. Grovyle tries to protest against Dusknoir's claims of him being vicious and wicked, but cannot, since he is muzzled.
Before going through the Dimensional Hole, Dusknoir says goodbye, and invites the player and partner over to say goodbye. Then, to everyone's surprise, Dusknoir grabs them and drags them through the Dimensional Hole - and into the future.
Part 3 - A Planet Paralyzed
The player and the partner wake up in the future, where evertyhing is gray, for some weird reason. They (along with Grovyle) are sentenced to execution by Dusknoir. With Groyvle's help, the player and the partner barely escape. Grovyle will take them back to the past, if the player and partner follow him.
While traveling, the group encounters a rushing waterfall (which might actually turn out to be the waterfall from their first exploration, though that was not clarrified). The waterfall would be moving with water, but instead is frozen in time. The player tries to use his Dimensional Scream on it, but nothing happens.
While traveling, Grovyle reveals the real truth. The planet's paralysis really began with the collapse of a place called Temporal Tower, which gave structure to time itself. But when the tower fell apart, so did time, and eventually the planet fell into a paralyzed state. Dialga, the legendary Pokemon of time, governed time and motion from the tower, and when it was destroyed, it survived, but lost control of itself, and in its great despair, changed into a dark-hearted being that seeks only self-preservation: Primal Dialga.
Primal Dialga does not desire for the future to change, and as such, has extended to many means to eliminate those who threaten it. Grovyle was one of those who wanted to return the future to its rightful place as a golden, happy time. The partner is very skeptical, and points out that not only that is the complete opposite of what he and the player were told, it doesn't even make sense. After all, Grovyle was the one stealing Time Gears, and with time already halting in many other places, stealing them would have been pointless.
But Grovyle reveals also that stealing the Time Gears was mandatory, for their massive energy was needed to revive the status of time flow at the Pedestal of Time, located at the top of Temporal Tower, and that doing so would restore time permanently in the places the Time Gears no longer were. The partner then suggests that Dusknoir's claims were lies. Grovyle confirms this to be true, because Dusknoir is...an agent sent by Primal Dialga to kill him.
Grovyle recaps that Primal Dialga will do anything to prevent anything happening to its new future in its dark state. So when he learned of Grovyle's plan to save the future, he sent Dusknoir after him to kill him. The partner is in literal disbelief, and reveals that it still sees Dusknoir as a hero based on all he did for them. It then starts to leave to ask Dusknoir if Grovyle's revelations are true, but Grovyle points out that even if he did confirm it, the partner would only making it easier for Dusknoir and his henchmen to end its life, and alone, it doesn't stand a chance against them. The partner is at a loss for what to do.
Grovyle reminds it that when it was faced with that question earlier, it would rely on its own judgement, and wouldn't accept everything at face value. He then says that while things are tough now, they have to be strong, and push forward with the faith that they have. At that point, Grovyle starts to leave. But shortly after, the player, convinced of Grovyle's innocence, decides that they need to trust him, and follow him back into the past.
After conquering many dungeons with only the partner, as Grovyle left when the partner did not trust him, and battling a boss Spiritomb when he takes Grovyle captive (after this rescue is when he tells them about Temporal Tower and all that). They join together in order to get back to the past, the three reach a shiny Celebi, who is Grovyle's old friend. Celebi can take them to the past again.
After clearing another dungeon, the four reach the Passage of Time, which is what Celebi uses to move long periods through time. Just as they were about to go in, Dusknoir appears in front on them and blocks their path. Dusknoir reveals that the player is from the future too, just like himself and Grovyle. It turns out that the player and Grovyle were partners, hunting the Time Gears together, before they were separated in the Passage of Time during a storm, and the player lost all of its memory and turned to a Pokémon. That was the storm in the very beginning, and the two voices screaming were the player and Grovyle. Grovyle continues to resist until Primal Dialga shows up. Only the partner dosen't give up.
Celebi plans for the four of them to escape into the Passage of Time, and away from Dusknoir. She uses a special move that is going to transport them directly to the Passage, and back to the past. After the partner asks her.
Primal Dialga uses his move Roar of Time to block them. The four were just feet away from the Dimensional Hole. Celebi tells the others to run back to the past, while she stays back and prevents Dusknoir and Dialga from entering. After a short goodbye, the three leave the past.
Meanwhile, Celebi turns to Dusknoir and Dialga, and morphs into an electrical ball, and the Passage vanishes. Her fate is unknown, though she did prevent Dusknoir from following them to the past... if only for a short amount of time.
Part 4 - Race Against Time
Back in the past, Grovyle and the team take the Time Gear from Treeshroud Forest because the only way to stop the planet's paralysis is to put the Time Gears in Temporal Tower, governed by Primal Dialga itself. Back at the Wigglytuff Guild, the team seeks out Wigglytuff and Chatot's help. Grovyle leaves on his quest to reclaim all of the Time Gears, while the player and partner stay back with the Guild to learn where the Temporal Tower is located.
The player goes to talk to Toarkoal, the town elder. All he remembers about the Hidden Land is that a pattern is required to enter, which turns out to be the partner's Relic Fragment. The entire guild travels to Brine Cave. At the very end of the cave is the entrance to the Hidden Land. The player and partner travel with Chatot, who has been there before.
Halfway through, Team Skull shows up to steal the Relic Fragment again. They knock the partner over, and steal the Relic Fragment. Chatot races after Team Skull, to reclaim the Relic Fragment. Chatot catches up to them, and defeats them. Then he runs ahead, after seeing something that he recognized from him first exploration there. The team catches up with the defeated Team Skull. Skunktank gives back the Relic Fragment, pretending to drop it, revealing that he is not bad after all. The partner thanks him, and runs ahead to defend Chatot from whatever lies next, and to hopefully end the crazy mess at Brine Cave.
They arrive just in time to see Chatot being struck down by an evil criminal, who defeated and recognize him from her first exploration there. The team defeated the crimnal just as the guild arrives, with Grovyle. Chatot is alive, but barely. The guild will take Chatot back to heal, while the player, the partner, and Groyvle travel to the Hidden Land to end the whole adventure.
With the help of the Relic Fragment, they attract Lapras. She takes them to the Hidden Land with Grovyle. She explains how the three of them should find something called a Rainbow Stoneship, which will take them directly to Temporal Tower. Then, the three of them set off through the Hidden Land.
After clearing the Hidden Land dungeon, the team arrives at the Rainbow Stoneship. Just as they were about to travel to Temporal Tower, Dusknoir and the Sableye Squad arrive. The three are captured (again) by Dusknoir. He is planning to take them back to the future, through a Dimensional Hole. The three work together to defeat Dusknoir and the Sableye Squad. The partner goes to up activate the Rainbow Stoneship with his/her Relic Fragment while the player and Grovyle watch Dusknoir. Dusknoir reveals that if they get the Time Gears back to Temporal Tower, everyone from the future will be erased from time and therefore effectively die; Dusknoir and Dialga - but also Grovyle, Celebi, and the player. Grovyle admits this is the case, but their death is necessary to prevent the planet's paralysis. Then, Dusknoir regains strength, and prepares to suck the life out of the player. Grovyle sacrifices itself by wrestling Dusknoir. He drops the Time Gears to the ground, leaving them for the partner. Grovyle and Dusknoir wrestle to the death, and Grovyle throws both of them into the Dimensional Hole. This is the last time either of them are seen in the game.
The partner reclaims the Time Gears. The two step on the Rainbow Stoneship, and are transported to Temporal Tower, saddened by Groyvle's sacrifice. However, they know they have to keep going, even withough Groyvle.
After clearing the Temporal Tower, the player and partner are just about to restore the Time Gears into their rightful place, but Primal Dialga shows up. After an epic battle, the player and partner win. After they defeat Primal Dialga, there is a huge storm, just like in the very beginning. Lightning flashes around, and the Tower is collapsing. The partner restores the Time Gears to the rightful spots, seconds before the entire tower collapses and time freezes. In fact, when the tower is shown again, it is shown that the tower is in pieces and was falling apart, but then was halted in time. The world is saved!
While heading back, the player begins to disappear from the world, because it has restored the Time Gears. The partner refuses to accept this, saying that they came so far, and the player couldn't die now. The player's last wish is that everyone knows what happens to himself/herself and Grovyle, and how the partner saved the world. The partner returns to the guild, and tells the story to everyone, as was the player's last wish.
The game ends with the partner returning to the beach, and a series of memories with the player is shown. Bidoof finds the partner on the beach. The partner collapses, crying. The credits roll.
Part 5 - After Credits
After the credits are done, Dialga hears the partner's wish for the player to be back. This turns Primal Dialga back into normal Dialga. Feeling that it owes the partner its life, Dialga grants the partner's wish. The player returns to the beach. The partner and Bidoof see him/her lying in the sand, and race over to him/her. The player and partner are reunited.
Part 6 & onward
Like Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team there is a post-credits story. It focuses on the new villian Darkrai. Several months after the player was brought back, Wigglytuff decides that the team is ready for an exam to qualify for graduation from the guild (apparently only accepting one team a year). They are told to go find the treasure found in Luminous Spring, a place where Pokémon used to go to to evolve, but are warned to avoid the "Grand Master of all things Bad" who lives there with his minions. Upon reaching the springs they run into two Treasure town locals, Ursaring and Teddiursa and conclude that the "Grand Master" does not exist before falling into the lair of the "Grand Master", who turns out to be nothing more than Wigglytuff and his crew. You must beat him, who continues to deny it till the end. After finding the treasures they return and graduate. To their dismay, the only benefit to be that they can explore on their own and change the group leader, but they still have to give most of their prize money to the guild. Having graduated, the team move their headquarters to Sharpedo Bluff's cave hollow. Then, Mr. Mime appears in Treasure Town stating the famous explorer Scizor has been missing in a place called the Blizzard Island. The team pays a visit and finds Scizor frozen solid by Froslass. After they rescue Scizor, Scizor gives the team the 'Secret Rank' which the team and everyone else knows nothing about. This rank is used for the 7 dungeons home to the great Seven Treasures.
One day, the player finds Corphish at the guild's intersection, saying to go talk to Sunflora about something. When Sunflora is found on the lower level, she says that there is a land that has recently become possible to enter. This dungeon is called the Surrounded Sea, supposedly home to hundreds of rare treasures brought by the currents that run through it. At the end of Surrounded Sea, there are three Deluxe Boxes and a Wonder Egg, along with a warp tile that will get the player out of the dungeon. The next morning, the egg hatches into a Manaphy. The team goes to see Chatot, who says that Manaphy are extremely rare. This makes the team take extra good care of it. A day later, the team takes Manaphy for a walk by the beach, which makes baby Manaphy incredibly happy. That night, however, when the team is asleep, Manaphy stays up and longingly stares out at the sea, eventually resorting to go to the shore. When the team finds Manaphy missing in the morning, they run around in a panic, trying to find it. They finally find it at the beach, where it suddenly keels over in the sand. Once the team reports to Chatot, the bird says that Manaphy are really supposed to grow in the ocean. However, Manaphy's current ailment could only be cured by the Phione Dew, located in Miracle Sea. At the end of the dungeon, there are six Phione, who are driven away suddenly by an enraged, treasure-seeking Gyarados. After defeating Gyarados, he runs away, and in their thanks, the Phione gives the player the Phione Dew. After Manaphy is cured after a few days of rest, a Pokémon named Walrein is told by Chatot to take care of Manaphy under the sea. With a tearful farewell, Manaphy is taken to its home.
After the player saves Manaphy and after a couple of days of plain jobs, Team Charm pays a visit to the guild. Team Charm consists of Lopunny, Medicham, and Gardevoir. This trio is legendary for their rank, which is the Master Rank, and for their style of treasure hunting. A former member, surprisingly, is Wigglytuff. They came because they're stuck on a hunt for treasure because they don't have a key. They ask Wigglytuff and Wigglytuff "claims" that he doesn't have it. But just before everyone thinks Team Charm will leave, Lopunny gives Wigglytuff a Perfect Apple and Wigglytuff finds the key with a big bang from his room. When Team Charm is leaving, everyone asks if they can go to the Aegis Cave, including the team. Lopunny, the leader of Team Charm, agrees and says everyone can go after they open it with the key. The treasure of Aegis Cave is guarded by 3 legendary beings, Regice, Regirock, and Registeel. After defeating them, Team Charm assists the player in fighting Regigigas.
Later, Darkrai (disguised as Cresselia) appears in the player's dreams and tells the player that their continued existence is causing a distortion in space. On the night before going to Palkia for an explanation, Palkia itself attacks the team, spiriting them away to it's domain, the Spacial Rift. They battle Palkia for answers, but it gets trapped in a nightmare. Darkrai (still disguised as Cresseila) tries to finish off the team using Palkia, but it is stopped by another Cresselia, who reveals that the first was an impostor by the name of Darkrai, who reveals itself to be the one distorting space. Although Darkrai invites the team to stop him, Cresselia thinks it is a trap, because normally Darkrai run away when found, doing its work in the shadows and only coming out to finish the job. The team decides to heed Darkrai's call, and Darkrai reveals his plans, by stopping time or space, the world would stop and be covered in darkness, and all Pokémon would share an everlasting nightmare, in which Darkrai would rule. In addition to this, Darkrai also reveals that he had been responsible from everything right from the beginning, from the collapse of the Temporal Tower to the player's very own transformation and memory loss. Darkrai lets the team decide if they want to join him ruling the world in darkness. The player's partner decides that it's useless to resist, so he/she decides to join Darkrai, but it's not real. The player realizes this is just another illusion, and breaks free of it. With the partner back on the player's side, the team battles Darkrai and wins. Darkrai attempts to flee through a portal, but Palkia arrives and attempts to stop Darkrai from leaving by unleashing an attack on him. But instead of destroying him, he attacks the Dimensional Hole, thus erasing Darkrai's memories, much like what happened to the player. Darkrai has no more memory of his evil ambitions, and wanders the Pokémon world; his location is at that point unknown. After Darkrai is gone, Team Raider, legendary Master Rank team, shows up on the beach after rescuing Dugtrio. It is unknown if they do anything. Manaphy returns and joins the player's team. three days later, he tells the team about the Marine Resort and then after the team unlocks it, the player and partner can finally evolve; after recruiting Palkia in the Spacial Rift.
