TRANSSTADIA ARENA

Introduction

The TransStadia in Ahmedabad is built under the PPP ( Public Private Partnership ) and it is also the first stadium under this kind . Udit Sheth is the founder of the Arena . In 2008 – the idea about about building the arena was proposed before Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who was Chief Minister at that time . It was the project of about Rs. 550 crore . This idea of arena was denied by many states but Modi accepted this idea of arena so that he can uplift the state of Gujarat

in terms of sports . The Arena possess everything under one roof . Apart from the playing arena , both the outdoor and indoor but also have self-satisfactory sports science centre which is all set to revolutionise sportainment in the country . It is a air-conditioned 32,000 sq.ft. pillar-less multipurpose indoor arena . It also have 16,600 sq.m of green belt and landscape , including vertical greenery . It converts outdoor stadium into an indoor arena within 6 minutes at a touch of a button by using technology which has been globally patented . Positive response from the Modi government , Ahmedabad became the first place in India to have such arena . About 2% of the total revenue generated by the arena , it is given to state authorities for the development of sports in Gujarat .

Currently their are 14 sports facilities at EKA Club.To name them,Multi-sports hall for Futsal, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Badminton courts, Basketball courts, Squash courts, Table Tennis courts

Swimming pool roof top infiniy is controllable in terms of temperature.

16000 sqft body transformation centre. FIFA Standard Football Stadium is with a seating capacity of 20,000 people

Their are Patented Technologies to enhance spectator experience: For example StadiArena is air-conditioned 32,000 sq. ft. pillar-less multi-purpose indoor arena. Another very specular technology used is T-box: modular and retractable seating systems

In order to protect Turf, Turf Protector - world's only turf protection system manufactured from truly translucent HDPE material, it allows for continuous photosynthesis, which ensures optimal turf health, together with a 30-year UV degradation guarantee

About the specialities of these stadia. And How are they different from the traditional stadiums being built in India? 

In India, stadiums are developed on over 40 acre, whereas the Ahmedabad stadia is utilising only 10 acre. Stadiums in India are used occasionally while the upcoming stadium in Ahmedabad is designed not only to play 16 different games but also for social gatherings.

 EVENTS HELD IN TRANSSTADIA ARENA

The TransStadia Arena has become one of the biggest destinations of Gujarat for hosting events, as the vast 1.3 million sq. ft. sports and entertainment venue has the capacity to host world class sports and leisure events.

The TransStadia Arena had a grand opening in 2016 as it was launched by holding the Kabaddi World Cup 2016. All the Kabaddi matches of the world cup were held in the TransStadia Arena. Twelve countries participated in the world cup to compete against each other, including countries like USA and England.

UltraTech Cement organized its largest corporate event for around 12,000 people at The Arena by TransStadia, Ahmedabad. The celebration event called 'Ek Junoon Ek Jashn' was organised to felicitate its best-performing dealers and stockists from Gujarat. The event saw performances by Farhan Akhtar and band, Shankar Ehsaan & Loy, aerial artists and was hosted by actor/ comedians Manan Desai and Ojas Raval.

ITSmart Expo 2017 which was one of the biggest stationary events of India was also held at the TransStadia Arena. The event was attended by importers and stationary distributors from all over India as it was a huge opportunity for their business. The vent was a huge success.

Sanam, India’s top singer on the digital platform, whose YouTube channel is among the fastest growing channels also kept his live concert in the TransStadia Arena in December 2017 which was a very successful one and a huge crowd gathered in the Arena to listen to him.

Design

The TransStadia Arena is designed in such a way that it utilises its area optimally. It provide multiple banqueting facilities. Banquet includes pre-function area and landscape Terrace which has a capacity of 450 pax which includes Green room and also 2 access points (1)for external and (1) for members only.

Best features of this Stadium is that it can be easily converted into an Indoor, Multi-purpose, Air conditioned Arena. Pillar-less facility for hosting events,which can be convertible in 6 minutes. It includes 14 Hospitality Boxes overlooking the pitch which can be converted into Guest Room when ever required. Ample parking area - 2 levels parking for approximately 1200 vehicles at a time. Pitch-FIFA standard football pitch at an evaluation of 4.8 m which includes natural green Grass with 2 major and 4 minor access points.[1]

Pitch

The pitch is a FIFA standard football pitch at an elevation of 4.8 m. It is spreaded in an area of 8,214 (111*74 ) sq. mts. with a seating capacity of 20,000 people. It has a natural grass turf which makes it suitable for sporting events as well as for large format events and music festivals. There are in all 6 access points to the pitch of which 2 are major and 4 minor.

Pitch Facilities

There are state of the are media facilities, spread over 6,100 sq. ft., which are a perfect for live broadcasting. Also there are in all 4 international standard locker rooms for the players covering an area of 11,000 sq. ft.

T-Box

The lower tiers on all the four sides of the arena have a total of 8,852 T-Box seats. During non match days this space is used for setting up tennis, volleyball and basketball courts.

Parking

There is an ample amount of parking space available. A 2 level basement parking has been designed which can incorporate a total of 900 vehicles / 1,200 two-wheeler.

Hospitality boxes

There are a total of 14 hospitality boxes overlooking the pitch. Each box is 210 sq. ft. in area. And when not in use this hospitality boxes can been converted into guest rooms.

StadiArena/Convention Centre

Another example of the optimum space utilization. A 47,000 sq.ft. section of the stadium which, when not in use, can be covered into an indoor, multi purpose, air-conditioned area, in 6 minutes. It converts itself into a pillarless facility with a capacity of 2,000 or 3,000 depending on whether there is an event or a banquet to be organized, and hence is perfectly suitable for hosting events. There are in all 2 major access points to the StadiArena.

Along with the main hall, which is spread over an area of 4,815 sq. ft., there is a pre-function area, spread over 2,595 sq. ft., as well a a Landscape terrace, covering an area of 5,274 sq. ft. It also includes a green room and has 2 points of access - 1 external and 1 for members only. With a capacity of 450 people in the hall and an additional 200 people at the landscape terrace it is the perfect place to host a large event.

Along with the main hall, which is spreaded over an area of 3,690 sq. ft., there is also a pre-function area, spreaded over 1,432 sq. ft., in banquet hall 2. It has a maximum capacity of 300 people.

Banquet hall 3 consists of the main hall, covering 2,980 sq. ft. of area, and a pre-function area of 2,980 sq. ft. With a maximum capacity of 200 people it is the smallest of all the banquets.

There are 2 green attached green rooms between Banquet hall 2 and Banquet hall 3 and both of them are designed in such a manner that if needed they can be combined to form a larger hall.

The Story Behind

Dreams turning into reality it’s all that we want in our lives. The same dream happened long back in 2009, when Udit Sheth founder and managing director of this Arena, a 31 years man, who wanted to develop and change the mindset of people regarding sports and nurture young talent. To build one of the best sports-of-art infrastructure was his dream, he proposed this dream to many states but at that time our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and he as to for the development liked the idea and granted the permission. Udit Sheth with the help and thought process of one of his board of directors in UK “Paul Fetcher”, a Stadiologist  who has spent 40 years of his life in  football business, 20 years as a player. Paul has been managing clubs and stadiums post his football career.

"So he invented some technological upgrades and one of them we have implemented here which is 'StadiArena' with the drop down doors. We have also brought in our own pattern of retractable seating, the turf protector”.

This were the technologies UK was using and Udit Sheth saw all this and thought a country like India where sports is given a higher post than any other thing so why do not skip through the old stadiums and get something new and innovative in technologies, why should technoogy only foster in gadgets why not somewhere when it is needed more.

The stadium was made by breaking down a defunct diary in Maninagar, Ahmedabad and it replaced the old diary.

He was asked many times that why he chose Ahmedabad why not any other big state or a city, reply came the way that this was the only state with a positive response to the technological change and after this many changes happened the state used to come 36^th world wide but know it ranks 6^th in the whole nation, according to it the budget of sports increased in the state of Gujarat from 35 crore to 350 crore which shows a positive response for the state as well. answering this question for him was not that easy and random as he has tested around 30000 kids and said that there is really a requirement of this kind of technology in the whole world.

Happening of the world’s best event is only the moto of this Arena. So, more people come to know about this place and technology comes to use at its best.
