North Cornwall's BC Radio is a community radio station serving the district of North Cornwall. It launched at the Royal Cornwall Show 2010 and is spending the next twelve months building up before an official launch planned for Royal Cornwall Show 2011.

Background[edit]

North Cornwall's BC Radio was the brainchild of a group of friends and radio enthusiasts from Bodmin, Cornwall. Between them they wanted to create a radio station that serves effectively the needs of North Cornwall, an area extending in length from Bodmin to Bude. It was originally concieved as a Bodmin Community Radio project (though this project was soon terminated when it became apparent that it was financially unviable, and is referenced in the BC part of the name though the BC no longer stands for that precisely) and the team relaunched themselves under the moniker of 'North Cornwall Broadcasting' with the aim of bringing the North Cornwall area their own radio station.
