Greetings all,

I am a twenty something from Illinois. I haven't edited many articles here but I have made a few corrections and I thought it only made sense to attach my handle to any changes I make. I have a background in Computer Science and Psychology but mostly of my contributions are music related. Eventually I also hope to do some translating but only time will tell if I have time for that.

In the mean time here are a few things to think about.

"In general the art of government consists in taking as much money as possible from one class of citizens to give to the other." —Voltaire

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's great civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back into bondage.” —Alexander Fraser Tytler

“In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, ‘Make us your slaves, but feed us.’” —Dostoevsky's 'Grand Inquisitor'
