I generally focus on the list of new page areas below. I feel that I may benefit Wikipedia the greatest by assessing new articles, sifting out obvious problem articles (copyvios mostly), and engaging new editors to outline the problems with those articles as well as invite them to become a regular contributor to Wikipedia.
Additionally, I work at WP:COIN and enjoy it for two major reasons. One is investigating and determining whether or not there is a close connection between an editor and the subject of an article they're editing. I personally enjoy the detective work and find that I'm often the voice of reason in the often seen lynch mobs that feel that having a close connection should bar one from editing an article or subject. Secondly, I like working with new editors. So many new editors come to WP and are bitten (almost always unintentionally) and never come back. Editors who come to Wikipedia to write about something they know intimately about show an obvious interest in WP and are often lynched for their connection which often has a bad result for everyone involved. I do my best to talk to new editors and not only help them understand the issues they're running into but guide them to other areas of WP where their interest may be beneficial to Honda. The number of editors who come here with a COI and unintentionally make problematic edits is huge and turning those editors into contributors is not only beneficial to WP, it's very rewarding.
I like playing soccer and video games, hanging out with my friends, doing service for my community, watching cartoons, and reading books as well as random Wikipedia articles. I have an unusual thirst for knowledge and would like to contribute to the community that has give me so much.
Tidbits About Me
I'm more introspective than most.
I thrive on learning about new things and problem solving.
I love constructive arguments.
I'm a big picture kind of person. While I do my best to be meticulous, I focus on overall ideas as opposed to small details.
I want you to teach me as much as I try to teach myself.
Engineering and Reverse Engineering
Automobiles - Admiring, developing, and designing (collecting someday?)
Volunteering and Philanthropy - I am the Vice President of a non-profit organization that has raised over 12 million dollars worth of aid for children and their families in Appalachia.
Obtain a degree in law and perhaps get into patent law with specific regard to engineering. (I think this is why I'm drawn to Wikipedia)
Own a rental company (beach chairs, 4 wheelers, surf boards, etc.) on a tropical beach.
Own my own pub.
Own my own breakfast restaurant.
Note: When I say 'own' I don't mean just ownership for the sake of owning. I wish to run those businesses however I see fit.
Live in at least 3 other countries where a different language is spoken for 2 years at a time.
Visit outer space.
Become a politician on a national level (although I'll probably get kicked out by not playing by the rules). While I'd like to make big changes, I know that my aspirations will most likely only pan out on a local level like city council (as I'd probably lose my mind at any higher level).
For your good work on bringing life to an article which might otherwise have been deleted, I am honored to award you this Barnstar for your efforts at TOMS Shoes. Schmidt,MICHAEL Q. 22:51, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
To OlYeller21 in recognition of notable patience in explaining to an article creator why the speedy deletion was going to have to be completed. Your calm demeanor and clear reasoning are beyond reproach, and inspire me to do as well in the future! With best wishes always, Jusdafax 23:55, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Your consistently civil, helpful and thoughtful posts in discussions, especially those with new users and editors in disagreement with you, have been a great inspiration to me. For this, I award you the Civility Barnstar. Thank you for your good work. wctaiwan (talk) 12:09, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
