My name is John, but you can call me Ost if you'd like. I've been occasionally editing on Wikipedia for a while, but have only recently created a profile. I'll likely update this user page in the future, but for now I want to get some basics down so my name isn't a red link.
I try to keep the best interests of Wikipedia in mind when editing, though I admit I may be naïve to the intricacies of more detailed topics. My work in WikiProjects has taught me to make an effort to establish notability and verifiability with sources and to strive for quality articles.
I prefer to be precise and concise, but I have found people misunderstand me when I am brief. This tends to make me thorough and verbose in some articles and more so in discussions. I welcome editors to improve my writing in articles and I ask that you bear with me in a discussion if my explanations get wordy. Feel free to check my edit history to see what I edit or to note when I'm generally online.
- .shop - Keep a lookout for this upcoming proposed top-level domain. I'm not sure how long this page will last, but it was the reason I created signed up. A friend requested a Wikipedia entry and I took to creating the page from his information.
- Wilkes-Barre Area School District - My home school district was missing a page. I created it with some basic information.
- Elmer L. Meyers High School - My home high school also didn't have a page, although it's intra-city rival G.A.R. did.
I've contributed anonymously in the past, but don't know the specific instances. I'll start a list of major contributions here as I contribute.
