NYX Cosmetics is an affordable American cosmetic brand based in Los Angeles, California.[1] The NYX cosmetic company was founded by Toni Ko in 1999.[2]
The brand is mainly sold in stores such as Ulta and Super Target in the United States but is also distributed around the globe.[3] NYX offers many beauty utensils for the eyes, lips and face. NYX also supplies consumers with a large color selection for both professional makeup artists and the average woman.
The name “NYX” originated from the name of the Ancient Greek goddess, Nyx, of the night.[4]
NYX Cosmetics supports many charities such as Musicares, Children's Institute Inc., and the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.[5] NYX cosmetics also hosts the NYX FACE Awards in which well known beauty enthusiasts compete in various challenges involving makeup in the hopes to win not only $25,00 dollars but also a promising career in the beauty industry.[6]
