My name is Paul, and I live in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

I teach English here, and have for the past nineteen years. I am a retired (U.S. Army) infantry officer with an interest in military codewords. By this I mean the designations used for military operations like the invasion of Normandy (Operation Overlord) and so on.

I am the author of a long-out-of-print Codeword Dictionary, the last (and the first) word on the subject.

I am also quite active in Freemasonry and always try to set the record straight on the history of fraternal organizations.

Of late, I have been fighting against the over-use of capital letters. Please see the Wiki Manual of Style for guidance. Be assured I have nothing against marines, nor soldiers, or even councilmen. These are titles that are capitalized when they identify a specific person. "Marines" is not capitalized when it refers to the United States Marine Corps, (nor when it refers to the Filipino Marine Corps). I know, we were all taught to use capitals that when we were in the military, but oddly enough, that is not the rule on Civy Street.

Kindly note the discussion on the Specialist Style Fallacy.

A Fun Font, But it has no obvious use
