Due to time constraints, it may be a while before I get back to you. Please bear with me.
If you are aware of any former Iowa legislators who are in the news, let me know and I'll try to get their Wiki-article going.
Philosopher Let us reason together...
My work on Wikipedia is often related to the Government section of WikiProject Iowa, particularly with regards to Iowa legislators (watchlist) and Iowa elections. Additionally, I tend to hang out around the village pumps, new user welcome areas, and have a few WP:DELSORT listings on my watchlist. I'm also generally available if you need administrative help, help understanding/modifying templates, or just a general tour of Wikipedia.
To Do — Iowa Legislators
My To Do List
Create/update articles, ensuring they are to the standard of existing articles. doing
Make sure that House terms are completed for representatives - Wayne Ford's isn't. doing
Make Iowa legislature articles footnote formatted. doing
Double-check senators who are listed as serving only 2-year terms - Eg. Amanda Ragan. doing
Do the "born"s in the article text. doing
Do the alma maters in the infobox. doing
Find out inauguration dates and replace term starts/ends with them. Keep an eye out for those whose terms really DO start or end in unusual years (special elections/resignations). doing
According to Template talk:Infobox Officeholder, common name should be used in infoboxes. Fix it so that full name is used in article and common name in infobox. Leave explanation in "reason" spot. doing
Check Wally Horn and see if he served in the Iowa House before 1972.
Make sure headers are in place for current/former Speakers, President of the Senate, etc. As well as Majority/Minority leaders. Sample is done for Mary Lundby. Note that sample is only for template on bottom, not for inbox. Also create the relevant categories (linked to Commons cats).
Create decent articles for elected Iowa Cabinet officials.
Add electoral history to lists. doing
Create/update/standardize election articles per discussions. doing
Add photos to other-language versions of the articles.
Add short description "American politician" to all persondata templates for state legislators. Note that User:Waacstats has already done many of these. doing
Ensure that the lead of each article indicates the party. doing
Update URLs to the new legislative website (use multi-term link because it doesn't go out of date). doing
Double-check all candidates from 2010, the PDF doesn't list party affiliations, check against the candidate list, which does.
Ensure they are listed on their correct disambig pages. (last name, first name, etc. as appropriate)
Make galleries for the House and the Senate for each General Assembly. doing
This user lets SuggestBot recommend articles to edit once a month.
"…"! US vs. UK
This user uses "logical quotation marks". Forcing internal punctuation leads to factual errors. It's not a nationalistic style issue!
Note: Even though I am interested in the law, I do NOT offer legal advice via Wikipedia or other projects of the Wikimedia Foundation. Comments on copyright, etc. are in reference to the various Wikimedia policies and should not be relied upon for legal purposes. Similarly, edits related to legal topics are for general understanding (as in a Free Encyclopedia) and should not be relied upon for legal matters. It goes without saying, but an encyclopedic article or discussion can not substitute for a meeting with an attorney who is familiar with the specific facts of your case and who is familiar with the national, state/provincial, and local laws and regulations.
