I suggest getting more references to enrich your examples and give credit to deserving articles. Also, there are many ways to cite articles which are not necessarily at the end of the paragraph. Citations can be made at the end of sentences in a paragraph or within a sentence (in-text citation).

Taxonomic (botanical) names are usually written in italics. I suggest you consider it in your examples particularly in your second paragraph.

I know this is a work in progress, and it will be good to check your spellings for cases of typo for example - DNA not Dna; harvested not harveste
