{{tl}} will produce a template link, like that one, whereas {{tlx}} will do the same in monospaced font. {{tlx}} will also show further piped arguments, as used below.

Collapse

Collapse a lot of material, e.g. a proof, or a proposed new section on a talk page. Use {{collapse top}} then {{collapse bottom}}

Signing unsigned talk posts

The template {{Unsigned}} can be used for unsigned posts. It's best to subst it, as in {{Subst:Unsigned|Quietbritishjim|11:15, 1 June 2005 (UTC)}} to give — Preceding unsigned comment added by Quietbritishjim (talk • contribs) 11:15, 1 June 2005 (UTC)

Use the {{Talkback}} template. Add a new section to their page and use the below (including the five tildes literally).

Math

If using Wiki markup (rather than LaTeX in a <math> tag), use the {{math}} template to format it in a serif font and stop it from wrapping. E.g. {{math|1=''f''(''x'')=''e''<sup>''x''</sup>}} comes out as f(x)=e^x, as opposed to f(x)=e^x. The 1= is needed to avoid the equals sign in the formula being interpreted as part of the template syntax.
