Song deletion

As much as I agree with everything that you've said; and I have posed questions that have been ignored, we might as well let them delete it. We both know that it's ridiculous, but in two weeks, a few clicks and we'll have it back up. No sense in arguing when they're convinced to delete it anyway. Blackngold29 22:17, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

I know, but they'll refuse to admit they're wrong; they've ignored points made against them and they'll continue to throw out randome policies, even if they don't apply. MFKR

I might as well contact you directly, because we're the only two who seem to be making contibs to WP:SLIP. (Vol. 3 from basically nothing to GAN in 3 days! We're a machine!) Anyway, what did you have in mind for MFKR? Your collection is superior to mine, I don't have very many sources that relate to the early days. I did some seaching on the internet for "Reception" and can find about two reviews. I guess since it is a demo (which if we can get through this without some random person bringing up that crap again, I'll be surprised) the article could be somewhat different than a regular album. I guess we could still try to put together a "music and lyrics themes" and "recording of" but we'll probably be hard pressed for sources the whole way through. What were you thinking? Heh, I think my weakness is intros too. But I'll add some stuff from the musical themes section, and it should be an acceptable length. Do you think the external links should stay? About the Roadrunner Demo: I've always kind of thought, if there is no hope of getting it to GA then does it really deserve its own article? I mean, it is nice to have an article about it; but per WP:V, "If an article topic has no reputable, reliable, third-party sources, Wikipedia should not have an article on that topic". I'd be the last guy in the world to nom it for deletion, but I think we could probably merge it into the Slipknot (band) article. Thoughts? Blackngold29 20:20, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Images

Yeah, I was going by the way Joey Jordison's image had been uploaded. I don't think there is a copyright holder for any of the images (bar Corey's). The only unmasked images of the band's members that are copyrighted are photo shoots for side projects of other band members who play unmasked, unmasked footage from Voliminal, the interviews Mick and Shawn did unmasked. All the images I uploaded are unprofessional photos (except Corey's, which is a promotional shot for Stone Sour, and this is reflected in its licensing). Anyways the point is I was applying the way one member's image has been described, to images of the other six who had no accompanying images. So if I'm wrong, how else should the images be described correctly? Because I think it's important that there be images used to illustrate the band's members; a couple even had tags on their talk pages requesting images. Heh, yeah; we should rename the project Rezngold's Slipknot WP, lol. There were a few other projects that I would like to improve someday, but going through them by myself really sucks. I'll take care of the Aof stuff and put 9.0 as the next nom. It'll probably be pretty short compared to the others, I wrote the reception a while ago but we could probably find some way to expanded or at least a few new reviews. Hey, while you start putting in the base for MFKR (make sure you see my note about the title on the talk page, someone removed the period after 'Repeat'), I'm gonna start cleaning up All Hope Is Gone (album). "Psychosocial"

Hey, about the promo CD, that was why I removed the future single template, because it was due for release today, and yet today a CD did indeed surface. If it's not out yet then put the template back, doesn't matter. It must be on iTunes or something though, I'm not sure since I don't use that. You asked about the promo version though, and as to where I'm getting the information, a torrent of its contents, as well as some blurry but satisfying photographs of the front and back covers, as well as the disc, surfaced on Demonoid. 9.0 Live

Well, they usually recommend to look for other similar albums, but I can't find any other GA or FA live albums. I wrote the reception section, which I think is decent length. I suppose we could add a Musical themes section and add info for the tracks from their respective studio albums, but don't they usually discourage repeated info? As far as sources, I only have the album which does have some prose from the band about the album, which we could use. I don't know what else would be out there, maybe something on the cities in which it was recorded, but finding the city for each track might be difficult to impossible, as Corey doesn't shout a variation of "[Insert city here] are you fuckin with me!!?" on all the tracks. Speedy deletion of FA-Class Slipknot articles

I did a quick Google search for reviews of Welcome to Our Neighborhood, and it turned up exactly ZERO reviews. I didn't expect many, but I did expect something. I don't think it really matters, if you want work on something else go ahead. Here's the way I see the overall project going right now (based on this): Everything in the first column (the most important stuff) is in good shape, except Disasterpieces and Voliminal: Inside the Nine; and obviously we'll get AHIG up to GA when it comes out (52 days!) (there may be enough for an FA which could possibly give us a FT for the albums, and that would kick ass...but that's still a while off). Moving on to the singles: All need work, most have good info, but lack sources. If we could get into a rhythm with those, like the albums, that would be cool; although some may not have enough for GA, we'll deal with those individually. Last column, members: We should take a look at which ones we have enough stuff about them to get GAs and do them first. The Slipknot band members could be a FL eventually, but as we've discussed there aren't any currently so we have little to base it off; maybe we could find someone who is really experienced with FLs and see what they think we need. As I've mentioned in the past, maybe the former members could be merged into one article, though some might fail WP:BIO1E, I dunno. I think its nice to have the Aof, but if we're the only two working on them I'm not too worried about keeping it updated to the second. I will remove MFKR, and we can discuss what's next whenever you want. Blackngold29 22:39, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, thanks man! We do make a good team, hopefully we're just getting started. As for the former members prose paragraph, that is probably the single greatest idea on the subject that anyone could've come up with. I think one could argue that Anders Colsefini still deserves his own article, since he's still active. But I think we should save any effort we or the Project puts into those articles until very last. I like the picture idea, my first thought was to use a nonagram, but I like yours to goat is a pretty cool symbom that might attract people. Oh wow, I just realized you added the paragraph to Disasterpieces. I'll add more to the intro, go over the whole thing again, I should have it GAN'd within a few hours. We've (you mostly) have done a ton in the past few days, I wouldn't be opposed to a Promotional period for the next Aof, since we'll have three articles that will be up for review any second now. Although, if you wanna keep plowing through and do Volinial, I found a couple reviews on-line, but not too many, as live DVDs don't really have many reviews in general. You've probably already noticed, but I figured we should have a template for the Aof, since we have update in manually on three pages every time a new one comes about. This way, we just update the temp once and we're good to go. Feel free to change anything on it.

On a kind of related note, Do you think we should add something to the article list to symbolize the articles that are done, but too short for at GA? Just to show they've been accounted for. I've talked about it with my cousin, who's into most of the same music I am. It's pretty close to his college, but about fourty miles from my house. So there is a chance, but I'm not holding my breath. I would like to go since I picked up the new Disturbed album, and its pretty good and I would also like to see DragonForce live, although I've heard that aren't that great in concert because they're usually drunk.
